Lindt chocolate is pretty good... some of their stuff is amazing, especially their "Petits Dessert" series, which includes a Creme Brulee one, and a Dark Chocolate Mousse one... wow!

But for ever better chocolate, try:

http://www.vosgeschocolate.com <------------ the best there is... they also make brownies and icecream

^^^^The Vosges stuff is all pretty dank but rather expensive (like 7 bucks for a large bar)

The Lindt stuff is decent, but I find it to have a waxy texture/flavor that is typical of cheaper chocolate. Trader Joes has some high quality chocolate for very reasonable prices.

chocolate snobs in here just dying to turn their nose up at lindt and godiva

the sad thing is, I remember listening to the Splendid Table a while back and she was interviewing one of the foremost chocolate experts/critics... He said that in blind taste tests and just overall, Hershey's chocolate beat out a ton of these "boutique" brands and in fact was a far superior chocolate. He added that people look down on it because it is so common.

It's so much more cool to be like, "Le'Aliquedumonde chocolate from the nether regions of franco austria is delicious with hints of oaky musk" than "hershey's is good"

What is the best chocolate with alcohol in it? The only kind I have tried were called "brandy beans" and they were pretty good. I imagine something with Bailey's would be damn good.

i have gotten wine filled truffles form woot twice in the past years. the ones i got most recently were G. Debbas (http://gdebbas.com/) and they are excellent. they are milk chocolate filled with port, white chocolate filled with chardonnay and dark chocolate filled with cabernet

Hersey's replaced cocoa butter with vegetable oil in most of it's products to save money, which according to the government means you can't even call it milk chocolate...but if you still want to argue that it's good quality chocolate that's fine by me.

I was refuting an argument made in this thread, don't be a douche about it, like 60% of the posts in this thread were about chocolate in general not just lindt chocolate.

I don't really think of Hershey's as real chocolate either.

Truth. I love their chocolate.

I'm guessing most/all of the tasters were American. Most people outside of the US don't like Hershey's because of its almost sour undertone, due to the additive butyric acid that is put in cheaper American chocolate. Not saying that makes the chocolate bad, but it makes it very different from chocolate produced in other countries.
