I am leaving on a cruise Friday with Carnival Cruise lines. Ive googled sneaking booze on a the ship and came to the conclusion that carnival is pretty lax about it, if it is in you checked baggage and not in plain sight. what i am going to do is just put the booze in water bottles. has anyone else on here have experience with this or done it before?[Edited on December 28, 2009 at 12:51 AM. Water bottles work like a charm.
12/28/2009 12:50:40 AM
people do it all the timepersonally i've never done it but worst case scenario.. you just buy the booze on the ship and pay the extra fee to have it delivered to your room before you go back
12/28/2009 12:51:00 AM
put some rum in that nasty flavor listerine
12/28/2009 12:52:52 AM
how could you lose? just don't make the news
12/28/2009 12:53:22 AM
i saw somewhere that someone taped flexible tubes filled and sealed with liquor around their legs and wore their pants over it and walked on board.that's overkill if you ask me, water bottles or nalgenes ought to work just fine.

yea that what everyone one is saying. were are taking the destiny and people are going as far to put it in a Listerine bottle and adding food coloring, but i think taking a big ass jug of mouth wash looks suspect. the water bottle thing looks like the best deal. i mean i can afford liquor on the ship. but a 11 bucks a shot, and then adding the gratuity and shit thats expensive. but sence im going on a crusie i might as well spend a little money.
12/28/2009 12:54:08 AM
Yea im to worried about it. im not going to put to much effort in it. watter bottles in my checked baggage, put a lock on the bag. done and done
12/28/2009 12:55:32 AM

since you are allowed to take two bottles of wine or champagne we emptied out two champagne bottles and filled them with liquor of choice. no problems at all.putting the liquor into water bottles would also work very easily. this is nothing to stress out about, they dont check very hard and i dont think they would stop you even if you had a liquor bottle in your bag.

They've really cracked down on checking water and Sprite bottles recently The only safe bet is to sneak it in rectallyPM Jaybee for tips on how to go about this with minimal discomfort

Just got back from a Carnival 3-day. We took 3 big bottles of mouthwash. They were vodka and rum with food coloring. I also like to buy one single bottle of a vodka/rum in a plastic bottle, tear off the label, and write "Enema Solution" in big letters... this is my fail-safe in case they take away the mouthwash. Nobody is going to take it out and ask you about it.

[Edited on January 11, 2010 at 3:30 PM. Reason : rum on left - vodka on right (everyone had one big bottle of mouthwas in their suitcase)]

ENEMA SOLUTION[Edited on January 11, 2010 at 3:33 PM. Reason : too funny. You should have put a syringe or pump in there with it]

My gfs have taken several Carnival and Royal Caribbean cruises and lately it seems you don't have to go to such extreme measures. Just put the booze out of sight, in checked bags, and you'll be fine.

Yeah but I'm sure he had more fun with this

Sweet. I'm thinking of doing a cruise for spring break, so of course I have to see what works to get alcohol on board

went on a celebrity cruise this past year with a big group. every person had a different technique. some used the camelback flasks taped to their thighs, refilled water bottles, airplane bottles wrapped in socks. a buddy even had a sacrificial bottle of smirnoff at the top backpack in case they searched it. i was lazy and just threw some flasks in my shoes. everyone got every drop on. they didn't check anyone. we couldn't even finish all the liquor during the 5 day cruise... so if you're going celebrity, don't bother hiding it

went on a spring break cruise (over 50% college kids) in 2005 and 3 out of 4 of us got caught. Some did listerine some of us did soda bottles that we sealed back up neatly. The one who got by with it did gatorade bottles and food coloring. We were on Norweigian but I think the big issue was that there were so many college kids.
