After all the talk of the Magic Bullet in the Christmas thread, I kind of want to register for one.

I have a Magic Bullet mixer and I love it. I use it to mix chocolate milk, blend soup, make salsa, etc.

I think the best gift for a wedding is always going to be money since you can pick stuff yourself and get it where ever you want, but we did register for stuff. I only registered for crystal, a pasta serving set from Italy, a blender, and a few other items. Things it is worth it to register for

1. Crystal goblets, flutes, etc.

2. I didn't register for them bc I already had a nice set, but dishes should be on the list.

3. Bedding/towels

4. Serving dishes

5. If you want it, a silver dining set. This is becoming less popular. It is a lot of money and a nice stainless set is nice and easier to care for.

6. Table cloths, napkins, napkin rings, and placemats

7. Small appliances (toaster oven -they are awesome!, blender, coffee maker, etc)

Do not register for the following because you will get them anyway

1. Photo frames. We got 5 of them and didn't register for any.

2. Money or gift cards. Tackstar.

ehh I think crystal is overrated. And I'm guaranteed to break it with my clumsiness.

haha thumper and eleusis put baby diapers (just to mess with mom and let her think it was a shotgun wedding) and a PS3 on their registry. Oh, and a real banana hammock (a hammock for a bunch of bananas).

The things you request when you already have everything.

washer & dryer
vacuum

cool stuff:
canoe cart
yakima roof rack
roof rack canoe holders
2 thermarest sleep mats
kayak lifevests
camping roll up aluminum table
camp chairs

boring stuff:
nontelflonnoncontaminantleaking pot and pans
bamboo towels
ceiling fan
outdoor wall-mounted lights
metal step trashcan
duvet & duvet cover
compost crock

thankfully we got more of the awesome stuff & money, and less of the boring house stuff. most of that was added to appease the old people who won't buy the cool stuff.

NO FUCKING CHINA

Target:
Dyson Animal--got enough in Target gift cards that we were able to get it.

Bamboo serving pieces
2 Wusthof knives

Lowes:
TOOLS! and a nice toolbox to put them in
Cordless drill

a kitchenaid
and some kitchen utensils
some new bed sheets

we've gotten a couple checks and a knitted afghan. I only signed up for registries after we eloped because my mother and grandfather's wife would not stop asking where we'd registered and asking us to register. I keep meaning to delete them all.

I don't remember because our relatives didn't use it at all. My wifes baptist relatives gave us cheap shit from big lots, and my catholic ones gave us crystal chalices and golden crucifixes and other stuff way to churchy and ornate for use to ever use.

dumbest thing you can register for: china

seriously who the hell actually uses this shit except old people named doris and edna?

disclaimer: my wife and I fought about this while registering, and she won, and we registered for china.

I still think it was stupid, and a waste of space and money.

Also, I put a dremel on there, and nobody motherfucking bought that shit either.

when my sister did her wedding and baby registries my parents made sure everything on the list was purchased for them. even the football cards & twizzlers my bro-in-law registered for. so i better get this same treatment if/when the time comes.

Haha, I totally agree but there are young people who still care about dumb shit like that. I give you this from another local thread:

Quote :
"Anyway, my dilema is that this year we have a record number of people coming, and, well, I don't have enough matching dishes!! So, do I run around this afternoon and look for a set of Christmas dishes just for Christmas, or do I say screw it?

The FI thinks it is stupid and that no one will care that we have 4 plates this color and 4 this other color. I have registered for Christmas dishes in our wedding registery to have for next year, but....."

Seriously? Who the hell cares about matching dishes anymore? And wtf are Christmas dishes anyway?

I have a magic bullet from Kohls. Freaking LOVE it. Summer slushies are money, and with pre-frozen fruit everyone can have their own flavor

Fiance and I already have more dishes than we know what to do with.
We are registering for nice china and crystal glasses.

We have tools and tool boxes, bedding, bathroom stuff, and kitchen stuff on our list.
Mostly from BBB (bed bath and beyond) and Macys.
