But I don't have another job to really fall back on. Like my second job only nets me about $130 every two weeks. Is it really that bad an idea to just go ahead and put my notice in?

It is if you have bills to pay. If you're leeching off mommy and daddy you'll be okay.
12/29/2009 9:33:36 PM
yeah, got bills.so that's bad right

in '07 i quit my job of 6 years three months after moving into a new house and a month after finding out my wife was pregnant to switch careers to a field in which i arguably had no professional experience.kinda scary, looking back at that

^ but I dont think he wants to go into the handjob giving business
12/29/2009 9:43:37 PM
oh dag
12/29/2009 9:43:56 PM
such soft hands
12/29/2009 9:44:19 PM
one could even call them supple
12/29/2009 9:45:13 PM
i wouldn't quit right now unless you have another lined up just because of the economyunless you have enough savings and/or mommy and daddy
12/29/2009 9:46:34 PM
and if you have that much in savings at 21 you arent living rightwell, you are living "right" but not fun
12/29/2009 9:48:26 PM
i have enough savings for about 4 or 5 months at my current spending rate. so I dono, it might be a good time to go for a road trip or something
12/29/2009 9:54:39 PM
why do you want to quit?
12/29/2009 10:17:29 PM
2010censusjobs.gov
12/29/2009 10:48:37 PM
quit then
12/29/2009 10:48:52 PM
do what you got to do, but i don't have any sympathy for folks crying about hard times 2 months after quitting their job.

No. Getting a job is still pretty fucking easy, it's just that for a lot of people it's actually to their advantage to draw unemployment.
12/30/2009 3:42:17 AM
^i went on unemployment after i was let go b/c i made more collecting than I would have from working somewhere like Harris Teeter. Actually, they give you an amount you can make and anything over that they start docking from your unemployment check, so its a non-incentive to work a crap job til you find full time employment.and this thread is relevant to my interests because i have considered the same with my new job.

^&^^ Does anyone else see the problem with this set up? I can understand it for 3-6 months but beyond that...welfare state comes to mind.
12/30/2009 10:05:22 AM
^yeah i was on it and ill admit it makes you not care about actually finding work when you can stay home, drink beer and watch price is right and get paid every week.but luckily i found motivation to actually do something to support myself beside that and was only on it for 3 months. and there is a term limit on how long you can get it (11 months?) so its not like welfare where you can keep getting it. but you could probably reapply after your term is up, so maybe
