Quote :
"ROME, Ga. — Planning to drink and drive this New Year's? A north Georgia funeral home has a deal for you. Between now and noon Thursday, drivers can visit McGuire, Jennings and Miller Funeral Home in Rome to sign a contract stating they plan to drink or take drugs and then drive on New Year's Eve. If they die in a wreck that day, the funeral home will give them a free burial.

Services included in the package are a casket, grave, limousine and preparation of remains.

Funeral home officials said the program is designed to save lives by making partygoers think twice about drinking and driving.

wait.... wouldn't this be an important safety measure? I mean, sign it and do whatever anyway. If some drunken dude hits you your funeral is on the house...

i think this would just encourage people to NOT think about the repercussions of drinking and driving. cause now they can be like, well hey my fam won't have to pay the funeral costs...holllaaaa

they interviewed the owner on npr today. he's been doing this for a couple years, but said no one has ever signed the contract. its really more of a drunk driving psa then anything.

you people should get over yourselves.

He had girls sign a thing that said they were going to fuck him on prom night, and he'd give them a free abortion if they got pregnant.

Seems like this would be a good thing for people wanting to commit suicide. Just sign it, hit a semi head on after a few beers on NYE and you dont stick your loved ones with the bill.

If suicidal people were that considerate of others we'd have a lot more cases of someone mailing letters to their next of kin and lawyer as well as pinning one on them self that expressly granted permission to use all their organs, then shooting themselves in the head in front of the hospital.

If someone was smart and was dying of cancer or something and had <30 days to live, they would be smart to take advantage of this and save their family several thousand

what if you sign the contract and end up not drinking and driving?

is there some sort of penalty for that?
