The thought just struck me...do people on the west coast watch Dick Clark?

I know the people in San Francisco are watching Dick!

actually the east coast gets reamed. We have the ocean - meaning no celebrations before us (unless you're partying 12 hours before.) On the west coast they party and hold up every hour to watch it drop in various cities. I personally like Vegas.

I didn't think they had new years in other times zones

my only question is, is that if you don't believe in Christianity, etc. why do you go along with the year currently stated. I mean, isn't 2010 related to the birth of juses?

Because it's the international standard now?And not everyone celebrated today.

When I was in juarez Mexico for nye the bars would do 2 countdowns. The first year caught me off guard. At midnight it was all "happy new year!!!", kiss some random Mexican slut, take tequila shots. Then an hour later they started countdown again, I was like WTF! Got especially hammered that year.
