I'm almost always late, and I'm the only young person in my family who sends them. Scratch that. I think I'm the only person of any age who sends them in my family. And while my notes are always appreciative and gracious in my own way, they are not particularly proper or mannerly. I suspect my friends and family enjoy my unrefined attempts at propriety.

ncstatetke - in my workplace we have been on break since december 18th so giving out thank-yous when i go back to work next week is normal

Yeah, and it's really never too late to send them.

I think one of the reasons they don't get sent as much is because people procrastinate and then they rationalize that it's too late anyway. Screw that...even it's two months after the fact, go on and send them! They're a critical part of the giving/thanking cycle that plays an important but unappreciated role in holding society together. Just because we're all commercialized these days, it doesn't mean we should abandon the human tradition at the core of giving and receiving!
