Massive earthquakes crack the planet's crust like a hollow egg shell, causing unending volcanic eruptions. Creatures of the seven seas, unable to escape to certain death upon lands, boil in their liquid prisons. Disease encircles the Earth. Plagues and viruses, with no known cause or cure, lay waste to whatever draws breath. And human kind, having proven itself to be nothing more than a race of ruthless scavengers, falls victim to merciless attack on the hands of interplanetary alien tribes, who seek to conquer our charred remains.

No its not serious its only a 6.0 and people are just bandwagoners. Right after a huge earthquake for a few weeks every earthquake people will be like OMG THERE WAS A TREMOR IN ARGENTINA!

now people will be like "whats up with all these earthquakes all of a sudden" no. there were always non-sever earthquakes you just started paying attention to them after the big one.

just like the next few hurricanes after katrina

im surprised this isn't flashing news on cnn and fox since they usually play into these idiocy to build ratings.

The next hurricane to hit land after katrina (Rita) was stronger and one of the 3 most powerful ever recorded. Having a couple at one time Cat 5 (I think Rita was a strong 4 or 5 when it made landfall, I think Katrina was downgraded to a 3 or 4 by the time the Eye hit NO) hit within a week not noteworthy?

you're right the hurricane thing was wrong in terms of power but its still not like any hurricane (even if it was stronger) was going to be "another katrina" because no city (besides maybe ny) even comes close to being as vulnerable as new orleans was. Plus, you knew the government would act.

In the case with the earthquakes. This is ten times less powerful than the hatian earthquake so you people are just being rediculous right now and borderline mocking haiti's situation.

The gov't didn't have to act with Rita, despite it being more powerful, because people got the fuck out the way, and people weren't stupid enough to build below sea level. I'd say that Miami is pretty vulnerable if a good one hits. I'd say Houston too, but those fuckers in Texas seem to know how to GTFO when shits coming.

not an english teacher and this isn't a classroom.

but ya miami is vulnerable because everyone there thinks they survived andrew but andrew hit homestead and was such a small hurricane that miami didn't get any of the eyewall. Miami is higher elevation though.
