they are grown in mexico, kew west and similar places. most "key lime pie" uses regular limes huge difference. especially when you grew up on key limes.

Its fact that key limes lose their tartness shortly after being disconnected. Its also fact that it spoils quickly (raw egg) so its hard to export the actual pie as well.

I think in this case, the troll is kinda right. You might be able to get key lime pie close to the real thing in raleigh, but not the genuine article. Using juice from can/box is like making apple pie from a can, technically you are using the same ingredients, but it isn't REALLY the same thing...
