Jersey. I made a thread a while ago about an incident with these sheets, but will repeat it as the incident occured again this week:I pulled a t-shirt out of the dryer, put it on, and then spent a few tense seconds searching for the arm and head holes. Later I realized it was a pillow case. Stupid jersey fabric.

I have no idea

i was skeptical until i tried 600 thread count. now anything less is unacceptable. 3 sets - 2 from target, 1 from one of the home goods stores (they're all the same to me). i try to rotate them once every 2 or 3 weeks. sometimes i sweat pretty bad so sometimes i have to wash them earlier. they can go from fresh to smelling like a worn gym shirt overnight. (gross, i know. my chances of getting laid are slim to none)[Edited on January 28, 2010 at 9:06 PM. Reason : .]

I'm pretty particular about sheets....I've tried a lot. Except for the really expensive kind. I don't go there.I've found that my favorite are cheap percale ones from Belk. They don't wrinkle that much and are pretty soft.My absolute favorite is any set of sheets at my Grandma's house. They don't make sheets like that anymore. I guess years of washing and maybe they were made a different way (?) I have a couple of vintage pillowcases from her house that are the softest, best smelling pillowcases that you'll ever lay your head on. I have a light blue one with white embroidery on the edge on my bed right now. It doesn't match anything, but I love it.

My favorite sheets ever were some jersey ones that I had in high school that were dark blue. They were so comfortable and soft. But they are long gone. Now I have ivory cotton sheets that I like a lot. I can't remember what thread count they are but I think 600 or 700 that I got for Christmas a few years ago. I have a few more sets, but they are all cheaper ones so I never use them.

I sleep in a leather loincloth on the skin of the last Siberian Mammoth, with a 3000 year old blanket woven by Phonecian slaves out of Egyptian cotton and rest my head on a pillow stuffed with dodo feathers.

Making a cozy bed is kinda like making a tall sandwich: sometimes that shit don't match up nicely, so you fold your layers til they fit, and double up in strategic spots. The different layers require consideration as to their placement (e.g., electric blankets close to the bottom of the stack, and scratchy/grabby blankets to serve as anchors to keep the stack intact). That upper edge needs to be neat and tidy so you can grab all your layers at once. --I fucking hate this ultra deep pocket shit. I just put new sheets on our queen bed, and thanks to this would-you-like-a-mariana-trench-in-your-deep-pockets business, I may as well have put king sheets on the bed. They're so loose
2/8/2010 11:55:59 PM
I have one set of sturdy high count cotton, 2 sets of Egyptian Cotton, and one set of bamboo. Before we went to a king sized bed, I had quite the collection of queen sized sheets. I was a bed linen whore. I haven't had the time or money to invest in a variety of sheets with the king sized bed. All of my current linens are from Target, except the sturdy cotton sheets. Those were actually found unopened in a family friend's storage unit and we were the only ones she knew with a king sized bed.
