why or why not...and do they cuss in front of you?

__________________________________

aside from an inadvertent "SHIT!!!!!" when, during Babe Ruth ball, my dad was coaching 3rd and I ran through his stop sign and got nailed at the plate during a pivotal point in the game. i'll never forget that, because it was the only time i've ever cussed in front of either parent

why? we weren't raised around a lot of cussing. yeah we went to church, but we weren't Bible bangers. yeah we watched R-rated movies with plenty of violence and foul language, but we still never felt comfortable cussing in front of our parents.

as time as gone on, I've heard by dad say shit and bitch a few times....my mom says shit quite often. never heard either drop the F-bomb

on a related note, I cuss like a sailor in front of my friends and my sisters

I bring out a repertoire of cuss words with my parents. Occasionally I may "apologize" b4 dropping an f bomb, but if I'm really pissed about something that I'm talking to them about I just let it roll.

I even cuss in front of my in-laws as my MIL has been known to sew a tapestry herself. However, I would not say fuck in front of my MIL...that's where she draws the line. It's funny when she does say it though

i generally refrain from "fuck" around them, but everything else in the normal canon of cusswords is open season.

I was raised by my mother who is 5'4 so she had to cuss like a sailor to get my attention.

I won't say fuck around them, but I'll say other things sparingly.

After I started working, I've generally dropped it completely. However, only to aggravate my mother, I will cuss for no reason in her presence. She's turned bible thumper, and it aggravates the hell out of her.

She also doesn't like when I talk negatively about Christianity, and quote Buddha to her. I think she prays hard for her agnostic son and husband.

not usually, generally because I don't usually feel the need to cuss when I'm around my mom.

yes, but a lot less than around everyone else

with that said, my mom owned an auto parts store for a long time and now talks to plane mechanics all day and my dad drove race cars for a living, so cursing doesn't exactly phase them

Who says "cuss" after Jr. High?

Its "swear" or "curse"

Cussing is what 8th graders do

I think I started cursing around my mom my junior year of college. Which was a pretty big deal, since she chastised me for saying "sucks" when I was younger. It's since progressed, to where I curse quite frequently...but it's usually in context and understood. I remember getting a little too comfortable with cursing in front of her and let fly a couple "f-bombs" and she was like..."THAT'S IT!!!" and proceeded to go on a tirade. Twas funny.

I generally don't say "fuck", but everything else is game. I think we had a pretty good bonding moment when we were talking about my sister and I said, "Caroline is being a fucking bitch"...and instead of telling me not to say that...she agreed.

my dad curses a good bit, my mom is starting to more and more, but I don't think I've ever said a curse around them. I can be bad around my friends, though.

swear and curse have alternate meanings (personally the other meanings are the first that come to mind when i hear the words), cussing only really means one thing so i support the cuss movement

I swear a lot more when I write than when I speak.

I've let slip some ones accidentally in front of the parents, only because college life makes the use of "fuck" as an adjective so commonplace that it's sometimes hard to drop. My mom used to swear a lot, but has calmed down now that me and my brother aren't little brats. My dad basically never swears, but he's in a profession where his public speaking is his paycheck, and a Minister, so he's got control over that shit.

That was funny the first two times it happened in that movie. They should have stopped it after that.

I can, and I occasionally do, but I try to keep it as PG as possible. I never drop the F-bomb, but the occasional bullshit, damn, shit, or hell might come out (this is more around my mom- my dad I never curse around)

I cuss around my dad all the time, we talk like we're friends

I cuss around my mom from time to time, it depends on the story/mood, usually it just slips out in conversation. I dont ever drop the f-bomb around my mom.

I cuss around my mother and father in law also, I try to keep it PG, but if it happens during conversation its not a big deal
