This is chit chat, but here goes a serious response anyways...

There are a lot of parallels in this story to my own life. My son is disabled, and will likely require these same braces to be able to walk.

We are also planning a trip to Disney for thier 5th birthday (my son/daughter are twins).

This situation was handled poorly by the TSA and should have taken the family to a private room for swabbing/screening as the article states.

Something like Disney, to any family - especially one that has been through some hardship, is an extremely positive thing, and to have thier vacation start out that way due to some minimum wage idiots that can hardly tie thier own shoes is bullshit.

From what I've seen, they are generally rude, and I've heard them talking loudly about things that would compromise security.

i had to get individually screened because i was wearing a knee brace i couldnt take off. tsa ppl werereal nice about it and said they wouldnt take me to the side if i took it off

there is a sort of joke (but actually serious) that the best way to assure your checked luggage doesn't get lost or stolen from is to put (and declare of course) a gun inside

had to have my bag personally checked out on Friday....

the x-ray guy put the call in on a suspicious item, them higher up came over and started ripping stuff out of my bag and slamming it around. he then found the offender (an apple sitting right on top).
