why is this a good thing? Babies have fucking horrible sleep patterns. I'd rather sleep like an alcoholic.

also, "could care less" bothers me

what a moron. it is not used when describing sleep patterns. it is used only when describing one episode of sleep. infants sleep through very loud sounds, disturbances, vibrations, etc. DUH.

even in one episode of sleep, it could be for only 30 minutes, moron. I'd prefer a comatose 8 straight hrs, thx.

depends on how old the baby is. newborns and infants wake every 3-4 hours for a feed.

but, babies > 6 months old can and do sleep 12 hours straight at night. my daughter sleeps from 7 to 7. i would love to do that every night, but that would mean cutting down on so many non-work things in life, considering that you have to be at work for 8 hours.

but during holidays, i do sleep 10-12 hours a day. well i did anyway, before having a baby.

My 10 month old girl sleeps 7:30PM-6:30AM, and takes two or three naps a day.

I've changed her diaper before without waking her up.

^^ Actually, I don't. I work 23 hours a week, 4 days a week. Add to that 3 hours of driving time. 26 hours in all.

So, the reason I can't sleep as much as I would like to (with a melatonin pill for amazing dreams) is because I have a family.

^ wow.

Being drunk inhibits REM sleep.

^^ Then you should've said six hours a day, not eight.

drunk sleep is the worst ever.

i dono how you can do that. I mean I can physically sleep that long, but if I sleep for more than 8 hours I usually feel extremely sluggish the entire day. The nights I sleep 7-8 hours straight and get up I feel the most energetic.
