yeah, maxing out a leg press is just kinda silly. doing them at all is...not as good as just doing squats.i don't buy anybody's squat #s unless I see them doing the squats. Most people do half-ass squats where they aren't going down nearly far enough.I'm nowhere near as strong as I was in college and shortly thereafter, and I don't do a lot of 1RM these days (partially because it's depressing compared to what I used to be able to do, partially because I don't want to hurt myself, and partially because I don't train for that sort of 1-rep strength anymore)...but I can probably bench about 275 nowadays (on the rare occasions when I do barbell flat bench, I work out with 225-245). I did max my deadlifts a while back...I can't remember if I got 405 or 450. I think it was 405. Squats? I think I could do in the low-mid 300s for 1-rep, going low enough to break parallel (I work with 225-275, usually). I can still do 20+ pull-ups.

i quit lifting hard at the gym. i do alot of pushups, alot of crunches with weight. i do 6 inch leg lifts for abs as well as a variety of other ab workouts. other than that i run. no numbers to brag about . my shoulders and back get a workout for about 8 hours a day and i get paid for it.[Edited on February 19, 2010 at 11:02 PM.
