This statement makes me cringe, especially when uttered by an uppity self centered bitch. If you don't like the water then why the fuck did you come on my boat?not a parody, i hate that shit.

We don't let those types hang out at Lake Gaston. We shun them and do mean things like throw their cellphone in the lake and dump beer on them until they leave.

dont associate with uppity self centered bitches?

Actually, now that I think about it, girls people who are afraid of the bottom are a problem. They just sit on the boat drinking and trying not to look uncomfortable for hours on end. Then they want you to bring them a hot dog when the grill is going. Why would you get on a boat and go to an island if you don't like walking in the water? Buy some water shoes or bring an old pair of tennis shoes next time.

DONT DRINK THE WAWWWWWTURRRRRRTHERE'S BLOOD IN THE WAAWWWTWWTTTUURRR
2/25/2010 11:29:41 AM
Man I hate this shit too. I used to HATE it when some of the other crew would bring the gf's/wives on the boat when were were transporting it to another race location, and they would bitch about water, wind, or pitch ON A FUCKING SAILBOAT. WTF were they expecting?
2/25/2010 11:30:17 AM
Not today you don't.
2/25/2010 11:30:48 AM
jesus, yes i forgot all about the people who don't like bottom. It's a lake, come on what do you expect?
2/25/2010 11:31:11 AM
On the other hand, going below, especially during a race makes me
2/25/2010 11:32:01 AM

"omg gross, fish will bite your toes or a snake will get me"
2/25/2010 11:41:14 AM
to be fair, you only have to come upon one moccasin nest while helping with some dock work once to think twice
2/25/2010 11:42:41 AM
WTH is a Moccasin nest? I've been hearing about these things all my life (Tar River trestle anyone?). I find it hard to believe that they all get together to spoon all day long. Is it something they do when they're mating?
2/25/2010 11:46:25 AM
first time I've ever heard of it. I've seen plenty of moccasins in and around the lake though. a few have met their end due to the "snake charmer".
2/25/2010 11:50:38 AM
I don't particularly like the water, but I like going out on our boatI wish jeepin would say that shit to my face

There was this pond out near Pinetops where some dude had allegedly died when he jumped into a bed of moccasins. I always heard stories about some dude who jumped off the train trestle in Rocky Mount and landed in a bed of moccasins. These would have been in deep water, not hanging around under a rock or dock at the water's edge. The only thing I could figure that might put some truth to it would be a mating scenario where multiple males are competing for a female or something. No idea if they even mate in the water though so my theory might be completely unfounded.I have seen one water moccasin in my whole lifetime at Lake Gaston. The vast majority of the snakes I've seen up there are some kind of water snake. They get big and often have a diamond pattern on their back, but they aren't dangerous. There are a lot of copperheads up there, but they tend to stick to the woods and I haven't seen one on an island yet. ::knock on wood::[Edited on February 25, 2010 at 12:03 PM. Reason : l]

I haven't seen a moccasin on Gaston, the ones I've seen were on Roanoke Rapids Lake. My folks bought a piece of land on a point with a lot of rocks in and around the water on the pointside that seemed to be infested with snakes when they first bought it. They've had it for at least 10 years now and now they only see 1 or 2 in a year's time. Only a few moccasins though, mostly copperheads.Nobody had been ever been coming to that piece of land, and now every weekend in the summer is a party on the beach. There's enough room to beach 5 or 6 pontoon boats about 50 feet around the point from where the rocks are. I think we've either killed most of them or they've gone elsewhere.]

goddamn snakesi hate snakes

Between the snakes and the zombies I see no reason not to keep a marine version of the Mossberg 500 on your boat.

i admit i don't know a ton about snakes, or why this happenedall i know is that it was at the rocky mount/wilson reservoir, a few years ago during one of the times where the water was lowwe had unhinged the neighbors floating dock, and were about knee deep in water, lifting it slightly to get the pin back in. the floaters were only partially in the water, due to the sharp grade.as we lifted, an asston of snakes darted out i ran like a little girl, didnt hang around to investigatei only say moccasins b/c that summer we had killed a few moccasins in the vicinity (back in a cove)likely an assumption and that they probably weren't.but still gave me the heeby jeebiesnot enough to stay out of the water though

I've been on a lake like... maybe once.I lived on the coast all my life. I was more concerned with the snakes in my yard (swamps surrounding) than the water. Gotta cut their heads off with a shovel, hell yeeeeeea. Or run like a little girl, depends on if they catch me off guard.
