We found a shitload of these in a storage room at work. It's a metal pipe with threading on one end and a weird ball on the other. Is it some kind of valve or something? Any ideas? We've never used them, but I don't want to throw them out if they have some purpose.

I should say, since it's not apparent from the photograph, there's a hole in the ball as well (so liquids could flow through it, I guess?).
