At the Ashborough Apartments. happened like an hour or so ago. I'm surprised T-dub's news crew isn't on this shit! wtf!? Will be on the news tonight I'm sure, channel 17 (NBC is it? I dunno) Anyways. So yeah... There you go.

Also, I'm moving out of my 3 bedroom 2 car garage apartment at the end of this month... It's on the first floor. Very convenient location and the garage is massive. Would be cheap for 2 or 3 people to stay... Just saying...

this reminds me of when my brother was little and he had a baby chick he brought home from school and he had it in a box beside his bed, and when he woke up the next day, the chick was dead...it had drowned in literally like 1 centimeter of water

I'd hope that you couldn't just naturally fall asleep and drown.

Falling asleep in water doesn't really surprise me. I just think that unless drugs or alcohol were involved that you'd wake up if your face hit the water.

I have fallen asleep for 2-3 hours while taking a nice relaxing bath... feels super awesome.

But yeah, unless you are impaired in some way or are unconscious (not just asleep), you can't drown in a tub cuz you fell asleep.

Yeah, I sleep in water all the time, and I always wake up when I suck water in my nose.

But booze plus extreme hot tub heat plus fatigue...not a good combo. I hope it went that way. If it was one of those businesses where he panicked and drowned in four feet of water...that's really sad,

He was more than likely unconscious at the time, probably severely dehydrated.

Happens.

It's not hard at all to imagine. Even without drugs or alcohol in a person's system.

Shit, if your hot tub is too hot, and you stay in too long, then your body will just get weak. Pretty easy to fall asleep, and not have the energy to get up.

private hot tub or neighborhood? if it was for the neighborhood and it was above 104 degrees or didn't have a 15minute timer someone is getting sued.

"RALEIGH -- A man drowned this afternoon in a hot tub in his apartment complex off Dillard Drive in southwest Raleigh.

Phillip John Pratt, 29, was found dead in the hot tub by another resident of the Ashborough apartments, according to police. Emergency Medical Services was not able to revive him.

Police found no signs of foul play. The medical examiner, however, will perform an autopsy to rule out other causes."

5^ WRAL is saying authorities were dispatched Vista View Court... but that's nowhere near Dillard Drive.

Quote :
"Raleigh, N.C. — A man accidentally drowned in a hot tub at the Ashborough apartment complex in Raleigh on Monday, police said.

Authorities were dispatched around 2:45 p.m. to the pool area of the complex at 5406 Vista View Court, police spokeswoman Laura Hourigan said.

The victim was identified as 29-year-old Phillip John Pratt."

one time I was stoned and taking a bath, and decided to see how long I could hold my breath

I held my head underwater for quite awhile, and was like, "hey, this isn't painful or uncomfortable at all"

next thing I knew I was flailing around the bathroom floor and spewing water out my nose, having blacked out, but unconsciously knocked my head against the side of the tub and revived myself

certainly one of the stupidest things I've ever done

The man did live in the Ashborough.

It was the complex hot tub, which is next to the pool outside of the office.

A guy was going to use the hot tub when he found him. He let the people in the office know and they called 911. The Amber Lamps came, tried to revive, and I saw them take him away in a "body bag" while I was in my garage. (not really a bag, but they covered his body with towels and stuff as they pushed him into the amber lamps).

he probably vasodilated from the heat and/or booze, dropped his blood pressure too fast, blacked out and went under......
