My aftercare instructions say to change the gauze when I get home; repeat if necessary. I'm already on the third gauze wad and still bleeding a good amount; I soaked through the second wad in well under the 15 minute time period indicated for waiting.I'd call to ask but talking disturbs the gauze and I'm sure that doesn't exactly help with clotting (I've got stellar platelet counts, so you'd think I'd clot sooner than expected)I guess this is mostly at those of you who've had wisdom teeth extracted, as this was a molar.[Edited on March 4, 2010 at 1:13 PM. apply pressure, dont change the gauze, just keep adding fresh gauze on top of the bloody gauzeevery time you remove the gauze you dislodge any clot that is forming.http://www.animated-teeth.com/tooth_extractions/t6_extraction_instructions.htm

I had all 4 wisdom teeth cut out of my mouth (teeth were still below the gum line) and they bled off and on for a week if I recall correctly (was over 10 yrs ago). Not sure if this is the same thing.

ive had to hold pressure on an artery for an hour before in order to get it to stop bleedingit soaked through a small stack of 4x4 gauzethey were fine...... transfusion not needed

I lied. It's flowing hard enough to go through the gauze and drip down onto my chest. And now the office is at lunch break
3/4/2010 1:30:31 PM
just keep applying pressureare you home alone?if you get dizzy or lightheaded call for helpim sure they will return from lunch shortlyyou havent taken any aspirin in the last week have you?
3/4/2010 1:37:28 PM
I am alone. I'm just going in to the office, because it's getting worse too fast for my taste (both figuratively and literally...I'll never be accused of being a vampire )I never take aspirin.
3/4/2010 1:39:18 PM
is there someone that can drive you?i doubt you are bleeding enough to get dizzy but some folks vasovagal over the weirdest shitand doing that behind the wheel of a car is a bad thing
3/4/2010 1:40:35 PM

3/4/2010 1:43:32 PM
I've never had codeine before. I think I like it. I can't feel my skin. I can feel the tooth socket a little, but not bad at all --

WTF kind of conclusion is that? When you get off your painkiller high tell us what happened.

When I was 14 I had mine cut out. All four were impacted below the gum line. When I came home I just held my mouth open over the sink and let blood flow out until it slowed down. Shit sucked, good luck with it lol[Edited on March 4, 2010 at 9:07 PM. Reason : .]
