Google is test-marketing blazingly-fast ultra-high-speed Internet service in a few markets. Lucky residents will be able to purchase Internet service at speeds up to 1 Gb. This is orders of magnitude faster than current Internet offerings. Please follow this link if you'd like to persuade Google to build their network in Raleigh:https://www.google.com/appserve/fiberrfi/Facebook group in support of Raleigh:http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/group.php?gid=300645070597

http://www.news-record.com/content/2010/02/24/article/google_fiber_an_accelerator_to_new_futureI reference this article as the reason why we should get italthough it would probably put me out of a job
3/4/2010 1:39:29 PM
it'll keep you regular!
3/4/2010 1:40:43 PM
I take it back, it probably wouldn't put me out of a job. I think it would be more attractive to businesses rather than the average residential customer I deal with.
3/4/2010 1:41:44 PM
numbers in a facebook group don't mean anything
3/4/2010 1:41:53 PM

3/4/2010 1:42:32 PM
i'm not promoting it, just listed it as a source where others are putting up more infoits not like the city with the largest facebook group gets the fiber, but the article you linked seems to think so[Edited on March 4, 2010 at 1:43 PM. Reason : -]

i would think they'd go for an area that isn't already widely known as a techy area to prove a point about how middle america can get great internet accesswaiting for the Google Bus Full of Awkward Dudes to have a facebook page made, all BRING THEM TO STATE WE DONT HAVE ENOUGH
3/4/2010 2:01:29 PM
i would say we are middle america, and being #1 on forbes list definitely helps because our city is already set to integrate this technology into everyday life.
3/4/2010 2:04:23 PM

3/7/2010 12:14:18 PM
what would middle america do with 1Gb bandwith? download goat porn? we need this for the things we do.
3/7/2010 12:14:24 PM
its gonna be fast because only 10 people in the country are gonna be able to afford to get patched in
3/7/2010 12:18:33 PM
rrright
3/7/2010 12:19:19 PM
^^Yep. Like I said, it will be WAY more attractive for mid-to-large sized businesses[Edited on March 7, 2010 at 12:21 PM. Reason : a]
3/7/2010 12:20:40 PM
i'm wondering how much of this supposed bandwidth is gonna be leased out to outside content providers... it will be neat to be able to have fast internet, but the obvious problem is the bottleneck issues that will come up when trying to access something off the SUPARGRID
3/7/2010 12:26:51 PM
BUT THE SUPAGRID WILL TAKE OVER THE WORLD OK
3/7/2010 12:36:43 PM
3/7/2010 2:05:55 PM
Now Google has towns and city across the nation competing against each other for a hand out. It really is taking over America
