I almost lost it on a St Patricks day a few years ago. "Sabotage" by the Beastie Boys came on and some drunk kid who I'd never seen in the bar before was yelling "IMMA SET IT STRAIGHT WATERGATE!" over and over again because he didn't know any of the other lyrics.



I might walk up there shortly hoping that the crowd has died down.

I didn't really get drunk since I was driving, but I did witness something so sad it was hilarious. Around 10:30 or so right in front of Tobacco Road as we were walking to the car, a chick face planted. No one was really around her, but she just fell face first on the sidewalk and laid there motionless. Everyone sitting outside at Tobacco Road was laughing and pointing and it took a minute for anyone from her group to even notice, lol.

Amateur.

At Hibernian last night they were only giving out beverages in plastic cups. So when we did car bombs they had little plastic shot glasses...and when you dropped them into the Guinness they floated

You had to push them down, it was kinda gay.

I only go out and drink on holidays, because I find more worthwhile things to spend my money on during the year but enjoy the hustle and bustle of an occasion like St Paddys. If you took all the cash you spent on shitty $5 pints, you could take a baller vacation. But whatever, you must be so much more awesome than everyone else since you are drunk all the time.

Hibernian wasn't bad at all... We got a spot right at the bar and I never had to even wait more than a minute for a drink.

^^ Was that meant for me? I'm not on unemployment. I saved up more than enough money that when I voluntarily left my last job I have not been forced to settle for a position that I don't feel 100% comfortable with.

I will say there were more guys than girls there, but that's typical for Raleigh and I didn't think it was worse than average.

And honestly...having bartended all of the "holiday" nights...New Years is by far the biggest "Amateur Night." People that are somewhat cool or have a little money go to parties, or a friend's house, or have people over to there house. Or they go to "Grand Balls" that cost money just for a ticket (although I think those are lames). I'd say the majority of people that go to a bar on New Years Eve that you don't have to pay $$$$ to get into...are amateurs.

I would say Valentines...but men feel obligated to take their ladies out on that night...and it's a good night for many singles to get laid.

St Patty's is a distant second to New Year's as far as Amateur Night. Although stupid shit like going out for Cinco de Mayo is behind St Patty's in attendance #'s, but using Cinco de Mayo as an excuse to get drunk is much more lame.

the car bomb curds are delicious! drank one slow on purpose last year cause i love them so much...but then again i love cheese curds and all associated materials so maybe that is why.
