Dropkick Murphys
Flogging Molly

Hell, even Shane McGowan was born in England.

That is all

I understand and agree with the sentiment of the thread.

However I still wanted to point out that St. Patrick was English

Dave pretty much is Flogging Molly as far as I'm concerned.

Did anyone actually think Dropkick Murphys was Irish?

^^They don't have to speak. Just stand next to each other. The fail happened around the time one of them thought "tattoo?"

i love the pogues

but i kinda make it a point to not listen to the pogues on st. patricks day

b/c i'd feel like one of the tools that's like "hey play irish music it's st. pattys day im going to wear stupid fucking hats and vomit because i take car bombs once a year"

but then i realize it kinda makes me a tool to be trying not to be a tool

and i get confused

on the upside, those dudes were cool about it when i told them no

a girl earlier went into the DJ booth when i was taking a piss and was fucking with my computer when i came back

because i was "playing too much rap"

so i played minor threat for half an hour

^^ i feel the same way, but my friend bernard was born in ireland and came over after work. he wanted pogues, he got pogues

To be fair, Dropkick Murphys does cover some traditional Irish songs. It's been a long time since I've listened to them, but "Finnegans Wake" comes to mind. I think the opening instrumental on the Do or Die album was a traditional Irish song too, but not 100% sure.

she did not look thrilled about the minor threat

but the other dudes at her table were diggin' it

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

^ I'm sure they do. Really, it's nothing against them (though I generally dislike their style of punk), it's that I was playing the Pogues and these guys were yelling, "PLAY SOME IRISH STUFF LIKE DROPKICK MURPHYS, MAAANNN."

Good call on the Minor Threat.

^ ha ha...That would have been a good time to play about 10 Fionn Regan songs back-to-back while saying "This is for you guys!!!" and pointing to that table for every segway.

I think my ex only dated me because he thought I looked like Dolores O'Riordan. I don't look like her. I think it is that I have a very Irish looking face [or so I have been told].
