3/18/2010 3:54:52 PM

3/18/2010 4:01:00 PM
Hot damn. I've been waiting to have someone choose the chair. Let's play a fill in the blank game: Light up like a ____________

3/18/2010 4:17:56 PM
Remember, if they shock him three times and he survives, he's allowed to be set free.

After reading the details of the case I disagree with how this went down.He was tried and convicted of capital murder. The verdict was overturned because the prosecution didn't prove the murder rose to the level of capital murder which is basically a murder resulting from the commission of another felony. He sends a taunting letter in which he admits to another felony. The DA refiles the capital murder charge and the court wipes it's ass with the consitution and convicts him.I agree that he's a piece of shit and deserved to die a slow horrible death, but I don't agree with how it happened. If they failed a second time, would they have refiled the capital murder charge with a kidnapping, unlawful imprisonment, or sex abuse charge?/rant]
3/18/2010 11:33:34 PM
I'm glad we finally got one to die. sounds like a real winnar.that he was really guilty and really meant to do it. twice.-G.O.D.

From wikipedia

just because the court said it wasn't capital murder doesn't mean they can't fry him for just being retarded...oh wait, that's texas

3/19/2010 3:27:48 PM
3 minutes of extreme (maybe up to 8 minutes... 5 minutes of wait after electricity stopped and doctor came in... WTF? ) torture to kill someone... and then the West has the gall to look down on brown people for executing criminals by cutting their heads off. Oh no, it is barbaric, even though it is instant death!BTW, can someone who knows physics/physiology explain the logic behind the 2 very disparate cycles:
3/19/2010 5:14:12 PM
you do know he chose to die this way, right?
3/19/2010 5:15:49 PM
that's not the point... the point is such a CRUEL and UNUSUAL method of execution still exists in the US of all places.
3/19/2010 5:17:37 PM
^^^just for good measure^I happen to agree with you that the electric chair is indeed both a cruel and unusual punishmentbut I have no sympathy in this case (or most cases)if there were some way to avoid the system's being applied unjustly, I would be in favor of a variety of cruel and unusual punishments being introduced]
3/19/2010 5:17:41 PM
im not going to liei think its a waste of electricity
3/19/2010 5:19:12 PM
I hope they buy carbon credits to offset it.

3/19/2010 5:39:55 PM
Yeah, but I am not even talking about that. You know, in this case, I don't care, cut his balls off and leave him next to some wolves.I was talking about West vs. East, and the West's 'humanity' and "human rights" doctrine.
3/19/2010 5:42:29 PM
well here's what i would sayin the West, the guy was about to get life in prison...in the East, the guy doesn't have a system of appeals in their legal system...he probably wouldve gotten taken to the gallows within a weekso maybe the punishments are just as harsh, but the justice system over here is more forgiving[Edited on March 19, 2010 at 5:44 PM. Reason : v yeah that too]
3/19/2010 5:43:44 PM
if we had put the chick he raped in the chair instead of him, then maybe you could make an argument
3/19/2010 5:44:03 PM
This gave me a good laugh.I tend to identify with stupid criminals, which heightens the hilarity for me.I don't think they should execute the guy obviously, but the potential for schadenfreude here is too much for me not to get my chuckle on.
3/19/2010 5:44:21 PM
In the east we would just stone the stabbing survivor to death for being in the house with a man she wasn't married to.
3/19/2010 5:46:10 PM
^^^^ i am talking purely about the method of execution, not the whole judicial process. if you want to talk about the judicial process, you can, but it has nothing to do with what i brought up.
