I assume Imax is better since it costs more but I didn't even know there was a difference

I saw Avatar id the Digital 3D and it was pretty cool

Going to see Alice tonight and want to know if my instincts are right and Imax is superior

Google yielded little except the typical fucktards trying to one up each other on Yahoo! Answers

I have more faith in TWW

For real movies, IMAX is pretty much a synonym for "really, really big screen"

I think Imax has a much higher resolution.

I thought Avatar looked great in normal 3d but sometimes was a little blurry.

All I care about is weather its better to pay 15 for IMAX or 13.50 for 3D

The cost difference is negligible...I want the best quality

I didn't think it was bad.

And the Tron preview was awesome in 3d.

Yeah but I'm seeing it more for Anne Hathaway

I've had a thing for her since The Princess Diaries

I'm hoping she takes her top off

I saw Alice in digital 3D . . . maybe it would be better in IMAX?

IMAX is 70mm film whereas standard film is 35mm in size. Bigger negative = more resolution = bigger screen potential...

If i'm not mistaken, Alice in Wonderland is one of the films that wasn't truely shot in IMAX or 3D, but has been made into a 3D in the post-film process. Based on that, i doubt IMAX would truely be a big difference than the standard digital 3D.

I believe the new Clash of the Titans is the same way.

Avatar, on the other hand, was filmed with IMAX film and shot for 3D so the IMAX version is superior in every way.

The screen at the Charlotte imax is so much bigger than the Raleigh one.

No the Charlotte IMAX downtown sucks for movies because its curved, the screen is so big you can't see the whole thing at once

The one is Stonecrest is better, and thats where I'm going

I just remember watching some documentary about beavers there when I was a kid and it was huge, and I was disappointed when I went to the one here and it was like 1/4 the size.

Yeah the screen is like concave, or convex, whichever one mean the screen kind of wraps around you

Its disorienting

Yeah I remember that movie. We didn't watch it but the preview came on when we were down at discovery place in like 4th grade.

We all giggled at the preview saying it would be the "BIGGEST DAM MOVIE EVER"

Alice In Wonderland should probably have some full frontal and some insertion (with condoms, of course)
