Anyone ever done this or know where to do it? It's not a doctor in NC, but I know for a fact he drinks every morning before going to work. He is a ENT, so it's possible he is intoxicated during surgery.

you'd be surprised the amount of info I've gotten off TWW in a various amount of categories (jackleg ftw)

^^ he isn't my doctor and has never been, but the info comes from a family member of his.

Maybe he's a better doctor after a few drinks. Leave the dude alone.

Yeah, I wouldn't let an ENT perform heart surgery on me. And I would let a doctor who is at the top of his game perform surgery on me. If being at the top of his game (keeping in account other doctors "in good standing") means had a few drinks, then of course i'd let him perform surgery on me. I don't care if he's been drinking. I care whether or not he is doing a good job.

that's true, a drunk surgeon is more likely to kill only one person when he fucks up

[Edited on March 26, 2010 at 10:23 PM. Reason : how about a drunken captain of the Enola Gay]

I mean, like, did he do something wrong or do you just assume he isn't doing a good job since he is an alcoholic?

you would have to contact his boss or coworkers first to give him help before you they just toss him, especially if he is senior. but basically if his work and boss or board isnt doing anything. you could contact the AMA or the doctors association (cant remember the name).

last resort would be police or just calling a news crew to report him. they could get him for a dui before even getting to work which would do a lot of damage.

I think that they'd probably send him to rehab before he'd lose his job/license.

you should not capitalize prepositions and such and such in a title.

Here's how you should have written the title:

Turning in a Chronically Intoxicated Doctor

I don't care how "well" people say he performs after he has had drinks...but I don't think I would EVER want a doctor performing surgery on me after drinking anything.

I think something should be done...if not by you then by someone else...I would be pissed off knowing my doctor drank before performing surgery on me.
