Um, just got engaged 3 weeks ago, getting married next May. I'm more relieved to have the "proposal" shit over than excited right now, but I'm sure that will change. It's going to be the most awkward and crazy wedding ever, because we're doing it on Long Island (where she is from) and I'm bringing my redneck family who has never traveled.

The wedding is definitely going to be Beverly Hillbillies and Jersey Shore. Her parents are a lawyer and a schoolteacher that have were born and raised on Long Island, play golf, etc.

My parents were born and raised in the mountains of NC, have never left the Carolinas, hunt/fish, etc.

We have been dating for 3.5 years now and we have not lived together but we are moving in together next week. Totally stoked.


Hot dogs: You get ten hot dogs and eight buns per package because meat packers like things that come in pounds and bakers hate things that come in tens.

Meat packers have a more reasonable, common sense reason, so the bakers should change.

Meat packers are shipping the hot dogs in one pound packages, which make sense. You know exactly what you are getting in a pack of ball parks.

Bakers are just shipping it that way because that's the way it's been done. If they make the packs have 10 buns they have to increase the price, which customers may fret over.

If you can't say no to someone directly, deflect the direct answer by stating that you may not be able to do something, or that it's unlikely.
