yeah, currently there is no draft. However, I thought I read something not long ago saying that they have already started getting things in place (paperwork) in case they decide to reinstate the draft. Changed the rules up some. I also thought that they're allowed to change the rules for the draft in times of war.

the assumption that the President would reinstate the draft correlates with some MAJOR shit going down.

for instance, not the iraq situation... or even afghanistan as it stands... because the shit would have to hit the fan before they activated the selective service option... and neither of those, as bad as they may be, are anywhere NEAR catastrophic enough to give the President the justification, in the eyes of the American people, to reinstate the draft. It would be political suicide. And there's no way a politician of his skill would do that. He's not Alan Keyes.


So, given that the shit would have to hit the fan in order for the draft to be reinstated, and that I would absolutely take up a uniform and a rifle if said shit hit said fan, anyone that doesn't is, in this guy's opinion, a pussy.
