yea... in Hope Mills we need a summer shower something fierce. Junk is EVERYWHERE. When the wind blows you get the little mini tornado thingys of pollen.

Ugh.

You can make tracks in this this by walking.
And cars are making dust clouds when they drive, except of pollen.

This shit needs to GTFO already.

it sucks when your eyes are so wattery that everyone thinks you are crying....and then you get the clump of yellow mush in the corner of your eye, you remove it, tears start flowing...then 10 minutes letter, the yellow mush is back! Even better, one eye does it and the other looks fine.

I have many deep-seated faults, but for a few glorious days every year I get to flaunt genetic superiority. I have no reaction to pollen whatsoever.

Unfortunately, I do have a number of adverse reactions to it being hot as hell, so no flaunting this year.

Don't get too cocky, you could develop a pollen allergy at any time.

We (NC Forest Service) have scout planes for fires and taking aerial photos.
Our pilot radio'd us and said the layer of pollen was up at 3000 feet and above that it was crystal clear.
Kinda neat if you're a forester/ranger/outdoors nerd.

most people aren't allergic to the yellow pollen b/c it's too big. it's the stuff you can't see that causes the problems.

Likewise.

That doesn't mean this shit isn't annoying as fuck (and it seems that this year is especially thick).
Hell, most years, I only ever notice the pollen because I can actually see it. This year, I feel it in my eyes, and it's making me sneeze sometimes, and my boogers are almost highlighter yellow.

I was marveling at this earlier today. Even from the ground, there's a pretty clear delineation and so you can tell there is a ceiling for the pollen.

This is EXACTLY what I experienced earlier as well. It seriously extends up that high. Fucking insane.

I'm not allergic to it (I do have seasonal allergies though- but I already had my bout with them, and probably won't get it again until fall)

I just hate all the yellow shit everywhere- and the yellow ass that comes from sitting down outside (and everyone else bitching about their allergies)

WRAL: Tuesday, April 6

Sunny and hot with a bit of a southwest breeze developing during the afternoon. We may experience our first 90 degree day of 2010! That breeze will only serve to blow the already annoying pollen

That is the first time it has predicted us to break 90- but it has defintely broken into the 90's a couple of times already (including today) - at least according to our outside thermometer and the one in my truck
