I met the roommate of a friend back when I was living in the dorms in undergrad. Started dating almost right away. Our first unofficial date was me suggesting we grab a bite, and walking to the IHOP near campus since it was early in undergrad & we had no access to a car. Had hot chocolate and grilled cheese sandwiches as I remember. That was over 7 years ago... been married for a slightly over a year. We're both in grad school now.

i was at taco bell with a buddy of mine. she came in with a friend of hers. i thought she was cute. she sat on the other side of the place and got to laughing about something she and her friend were talking about. her laugh was really weird, so i put a turkey call in my mouth and imitated the sound. apparently she took it as flattery. we left at the same time they did and my friend hollered at them on the PA i had on my old blazer. they followed us down the street and i pulled into a mcdonalds. they pulled up beside us, we introduced ourselves and asked them if they wanted to go muddin. they followed us to my house, dropped off her car, and we hit some paths around my place. had to go drop off my buddy, then i took them back to get her car. her friend had to pee, so they came inside. i chatted her up for a few minutes and got her number before they left. called her up the next night and had a date to go fishing that friday. we're getting married next month.

i'm just living the redneck dream, man.
