I ate there today. Aside from the atmostphere, the food is good. Friendly folks, but all the tie dye shit gets on my nerves.I got a beef burger with clausen pickles sandwhich slices (I KNOW!!!], lettuce and tomato. The burger was awesome..the beef was quality...waaaay better than melvins. I got it, some mrs vickies jalepeno chips and a drink for under five dollars...I think it was the special of the day though so that may change.Go on mondays.

i love that place! i've only been twice, mainly because none of my friends enjoy that kind of music or that kind of scene.i need new friends...or I need to feel less weird about drinking alone

Yeah, i mean, I like the majority of the music played in there. Its def. a place where all the "hippies" go, and I know how much TWW hates them, but i was surprised at how good the food was as well as the price...looks like they sell good beer as well.
4/19/2010 10:44:53 PM

4/19/2010 10:47:40 PM

4/19/2010 11:16:38 PM
I drove by the other day and a ton of people were standing outside. Looked like the place to be.
4/19/2010 11:18:21 PM
it would be nicer if it wasn't so small
4/19/2010 11:19:35 PM
agreed, that is the bottleneck that place will always be faced with.
4/19/2010 11:21:17 PM
owner is cool with you taking your beer outside to smoke
4/19/2010 11:23:45 PM
The place is pretty much abandoned on weekdays. I eat there occasionally with friends because their burgers and hotdogs are really, really good. Okay, so it doesn't replace Player's Retreat in my mind, but it was sure as hell easier to get a seat. AWESOME Burger/Hotdog combos pretty much every day of the week, I kid you not. I also go and get a beef burger with Pepper Jack cheese, jalapenos, bacon, onions, tomato, lettuce, and pickles. Shit is a-game with mayo and mustard. I haven't had any of their drinks, but their beer choices are pretty impressive for a small place.I've tried several times to convince the owner to put in a vent system so he can put in a deep fryer for fries. If Shakedown could make fries even close to Melvin's, it would be my prime time destination. Burgers without fries just made me feel odd.

I always see the sign advertising Jamming Burgers and make a mental note to make a HOOPS MALONE thread later, but always forget by the time I get home.
4/20/2010 12:24:13 AM

4/20/2010 7:40:50 AM
I keep meaning to go to this place. I met the owner once - super guy. He let me hang fliers in the doorway for an music event happening the same night as an event at SDS. And, lol, his name is Uncle John [Edited on April 20, 2010 at 8:53 AM. Reason : p.s. I'm sure they're doing something cool there today ]
4/20/2010 8:49:02 AM

I went on a Thursday at noon at it wasn't really that busy but it took almost an hour to get a god damned burger and chips. I was late as fuck going back to work. I told the guy to put more than one burger on the grill at a time and he was offended. Every other time I have been though it has been fast service.
