Go! It's a super fun town with tons to do.
4/21/2010 9:32:20 AM
lucy i think you are thinking about williamston in florida or something....you dont even stay in nc anymore
4/21/2010 9:33:42 AM
I grew up 45 minutes from there, and they were a rival high schooldon't do it. here's what will happen.Greenville, NC, will become the coolest place for you to go, and you'll go a lot. if it were further east, I'd say go for it, because you could then go to the Outer Banks quite a bit. Williamston sucks.

According to the town of williamston website (http://www.townofwilliamston.com/), williamston is:

I can't remember the last time I went through williamston, but I do remember there not being much there. The flipside is that you could drive to the outer banks in no time.

My Dad's from there. If you go for the Smalltown, USA kind of vibe, then it's a nice place.
4/21/2010 9:41:48 AM
Williamston's a shithole, pass on it.

My whole family is from Williamston--what do you want to know about it?It's a small town, but their engineering internships (I'm assuming with the DOT?) are usually pretty good. There's not a lot to do honestly, except for Sunnyside Oyster Bar, and that's only through this month...As stated, Williamston is 1-1 1/2 hours from the beach. And it's actually become quite developed now, compared to 5 years ago, on a small town standard. [Edited on April 21, 2010 at 10:04 AM. Reason : ]

yeah with the DOT, surveying and planning. I can't find shit for apartments there on google. ^Do you know of any complexes? I only have till Friday till decide and my first choice for the summer isn't looking too good.
4/21/2010 10:28:27 AM
fuck man, live anywhere for a summer. this isn't even a question, assuming that this is your only internship offer.
4/21/2010 10:29:42 AM
^ +1You can put up with anything for just a summer, do it.
4/21/2010 10:31:38 AM
simonn da man!+1do it if its your only option for summer!$$$ > no $
4/21/2010 10:32:51 AM
Chances are you won't find any apartments in Williamston--I don't even think there *are* any--but there are plenty of places that will rent, like duplexes. If you're really serious, my great uncle rents out small houses (Williamston style) and they're inexpensive. I can get you information and see if there are any open.I'll probably be in Williamston for the second half of the summer. It's the only place with jobs apparently![Edited on April 21, 2010 at 10:34 AM. Reason : ]

i'm probably going to accept it, but i'm going to follow up with my first choice today and feel it out before i do
4/21/2010 10:34:15 AM
Alright--I'm heading out for the day (to Williamston actually), but feel free to PM me, and I'll answer any questions later tonight!
4/21/2010 10:35:35 AM
pm sent
4/21/2010 10:35:55 AM
4/21/2010 10:53:32 AM
the apartment listings in that town need to step it up and post some pictures
4/21/2010 10:55:08 AM
I put in on the Roanoke River there last weekend. Seemed like kind of a dumpy, redneck town.
4/21/2010 10:56:50 AM
^^might as well get used to shit like that when you're looking for places to rent in bumfucki went through the same shit trying to find a place near roxboro[Edited on April 21, 2010 at 10:57 AM. Reason : dafs]
4/21/2010 10:56:58 AM
wait so you moving to roxboro or close to sanford
4/21/2010 11:00:11 AM
roxboroi was hoping for the job close to sanford, but i ended up with the other one. same exact job in two different locations
4/21/2010 11:02:53 AM
I'd go live in Edenton, personally.
4/21/2010 11:25:01 AM
area is ok, do not think Id live there. Use to work the doctors and hospitals in the area.Williamston, Ahoskie, Aulander and Edenton.
4/21/2010 11:35:24 AM
Edenton is nicer, but a long drive to get to Prison Camp Road in Williamston--which is where the DOT is. And the apartments are not really where anyone wants to live--it's typically subsidized housing in a bad part of town. Houses are much cheaper and nicer to rent.
4/21/2010 11:58:33 AM
i want to try to stay on the west side of things, i'll probably be traveling back to raleigh a lot to see the lady friend and i want to cut down travel time as much as possiblethe place i would be reporting to is on the south east side of town off 64. [Edited on April 21, 2010 at 1:54 PM. Reason : .]

4/22/2010 7:40:45 PM
so my living just fell through, looks like i have 4 days to find something new.
