so i used unetbootin to create an bootable live ubuntu usb drive (to use on windows systems)

only problem is once i get into ubuntu i can't find my windows NTFS hard drives.

I found one of them under /dev/disk, but that isn't the one i'm looking for.

where else should i look?

gksudo ntfs-config
or look at the output of mount to see if they're already mounted somewhere... mount type should be ntfs-3g

nm i think i got it. they weren't showing up under media, but once i went into Places and opened up the drive they spun up, and were accessible under media (via terminal)

problem solved?

For what it's worth they'll mount automatically if you set it up on a hard drive (the option is in install)
