I think the coffee is VERY strong. I felt pukey and high at the same time after drinking 5 tiny cups. I had to leave even though the coffee is yummy and the place stays open 24 hrs.

noda - place north of charlotte, lotsa old hippies
froyo - frozen yogurt
amilies - place in noda where they have overpriced pastries
ecliar - french pastry creation that is a lot like a penis with chocolate on top

I was simply trying to point out how amusing that sentence was to me because it seemed to be full of nonsensical words. And I think the last one might be an eclair...

You know, as many times as I've left NoDa tired and feeling like things were shutting down, I never once noticed 24 hour coffee. I suck. Thanks for the thread, I know where I'm going next time.

yeah, i mean who wants to go there for the best cheeseburger in town, or to see a good musical act at a small venue, when you can go for frozen yogurt!

noda is hipster territory, that's why it gets the syllable thing

judgement

[Edited on April 27, 2010 at 11:42 AM. Reason : CLT seems like the kind of town that would jump on that trend way way after it was trendy]

Yeah NoDa is what I've always heard it referred to, but people living there is also relatively new (past 10 years).

There used to be a place called "Fat City" in North Davidson, but since it's closing, the Charlotte yuppies have taken over.

The Penguin isn't in noda, neither is the visualite or double door.

I said best cheeseburger not best patty melt, and I'm referring obviously to Brooks Sandwich shop, although other arguable answers are Zach's or Mr. K's...imo...course Brooks is a hole in the wall unlike Penguin which gets on all types of national tv shows and magazines

and what do Visulite and Double Door have to do with Evening Muse? Do you refuse to see a band you like at Amos' because its at Amos'?

There's never really been anything I've wanted to see at the evening muse, always seems like some old guitar-fag hippie. I suppose my favorite place for live music is Snug Harbor.

Not too much has come through that I've been interested in. Seems like Amos' only does high school kid shit and cover bands, I wish they'd have something good come by, I live really close to it.

Only thing I am excited about is Gold Panda and HEALTH 6-23 @ Snug, hopefully Washed Out will come through some time this summer.
