Reading some stuff for school and I came across something that made me chuckle... #5 on the list...

Quote :
"Some indicators that an agroterrorism event has or will occur can include:

1. Obvious signs of tampering, entry into vulnerable areas, tire tracks or shoe prints around product/input storage areas, water supplies, animal housing areas.
2. Animals showing signs of illness, unusual behavior, lameness, or symptoms of those diseases considered to be important foreign animal diseases (like FMD).
3. Crops showing signs of unusual disease or other stressors - particularly given the season and environmental conditions (e.g. you would not expect crops to be wilted in the early spring if moisture levels are adequate or showing signs of "ripening" early in the season).
4. Reports from workers, neighbors, or family of unusual traffic near worksite, suspicious activity, or trespassers.
5. Open bags, empty containers, and other trash in vulnerable OR remote locations (could also be a sign of meth lab activities).
6. Threats (by phone, mail, e-mail) to local, state, or national government authorities, individual producers, or ag industry leaders. "

This is a serious threat son.

Very serious.

In fact, it is a very good target to take out because we don't have some huge stockpile of food. If food production stops, people die in massive quantity. If you think you've seen chaos, think again. Rioting, looting, etc on a massive scale.

We also don't have one central location that could deal massive blows to the industry as a whole to my knowledge. Perhaps Urbana, IL

It would require coordination, yes. But, if done properly it could deal a nasty blow son.

Yeah, it would have to be a massive event. I'd always pictured rogue crop dusters...

That is easy enough man. If you rigged an aircraft like that with a biological agent you could cause some trouble for humans too.

I suppose seed banks could make a very viable target as well, if they could hit a bunch of huge ones they could do considerable damage and if they were good enough about it, it could be several weeks until it was discovered.

Yep, you can do all kinds of fun shit to directly or indirectly cause mass death and chaos.

I am of the opinion that a terrorist attack will certainly happen again. It's only a matter of time. I just hope they don't have a really good plan up their sleeves.
