yes I'm in NC, I need to look into that, but I know you couldn't do it automatically a few months back, UNLESS you wanted them to take an estimated amount instead of the actual power consumption

Yeah, I get these too. I always wait until the last minute to pay my power bill. Actually, at the moment my power is scheduled to be disconnected on Monday unless I pay the bill before then. I'm gonna do it online on Sunday. The late fee is 5% of the bill which for me ends up working out to <$3 a month. Since it costs $3.50 to pay with a debit card online, it actually ends up saving me a couple of bucks if I only pay once every 3 months.

Can't you pay it at the 400 little gas station looking places? I just swing through those, mark the little paper and pay the lady. No fees involved.
