I'm trying to help my mother set up something on her computer via phone and it's not going very well. Is there not some way I can remotely link up to her computer and control her desktop from mine?I swear that I called my internet company one time and they pointed me to a site so that they could remotely control my desktop but for the life of me I can't remember which site it was...

logmein.comno need for anything else^ they can't see what you're doing with RDP. logmein.com allows you to show them how to do stuff (if they are capable of learning ). plus, RDP usually has router/port forwarding issues[Edited on May 7, 2010 at 8:18 AM. Reason : logmein ftw]

I'll create a GUI interface using visual basic and see if I can track an IP address.

And I'll see if I can de-rez the firewall and tap into the hardline.

We use Teamviewer at work and it works very well. I don't know how the free version would be though. I'd imagine it would work just fine for the home user.

We use GoToMyPC at work.
