5/9/2010 4:16:06 PM
how long does it take to get a teaching certificate
5/9/2010 4:30:59 PM
You can do it and teach at the same time, so who cares?
5/9/2010 4:31:51 PM
^^^i've alread been a teacher's assistant's assistant so nanananananaaaa
5/9/2010 4:34:19 PM

I agree with this thread. (I am a teacher.)
5/9/2010 5:54:40 PM
I taught your mom a few things. OH SNAP!! SICK BURN!!!
5/9/2010 6:01:12 PM
I'd say so for memorization subjects but certainly not anything that requires math or critical thinking. That takes talent but I guess art is easy for artists too.Education is broken though, so whats expected/required is definitely easy. Also its not easy being under appreciated. Doctors certainly have the most important occupation but rarely does a patient get upset with them "you're making me take another drug? gosh i hate you" Its constantly "thank you so much for saving my life".Then you have the whole salary situation.

^^ i don't know if i'm totally 100% with you on the doctor thingi mean i am to an extent and i get what you are trying to say but i think you are romanticizing doctors.[Edited on May 9, 2010 at 6:17 PM. Reason : i think over romanticizing is redundant. lol]
5/9/2010 6:16:55 PM
doctors are only important when you're old.
5/9/2010 6:27:17 PM
i kinda like teaching. i used to tutor my friends in high school some to be nice. with math and stuff like that it always came to me quicker, and to quote my old math teacher "the best way to learn something is to teach it to someone else"
5/9/2010 6:33:40 PM
5/9/2010 6:49:12 PM
^^ it is. that is why i teach my cats when i'm studying for exams. no joke. i say things out loud and explain them out loud like i'm explaining them to another person. it helps.^ i mean if you're in high school was history not just like memorization? dates/facts? [Edited on May 9, 2010 at 6:57 PM. Reason : .]
5/9/2010 6:49:27 PM
Not difficult at all if you're teaching people who want to learn.
5/9/2010 6:51:29 PM
5/9/2010 6:53:39 PM
^^definitely. Good students can virtually teach themselves but when you have students with disabilities, behavioral problems or who simply don't value education, then teaching is a real challenge. Also, teachers should do much much more than simply teach a subject. They should teach morals, ethics, confidence and work ethic.[Edited on May 9, 2010 at 6:59 PM. Reason : teachers that go through the motions are bad][Edited on May 9, 2010 at 6:59 PM. Reason : english is a bit of a joke]

5/9/2010 7:07:21 PM
ahhhh. my high school history was pretty much just memorizing. same with a couple of college history courses too. i like the analytical approach a lot better cause then you at least have to think some.
5/9/2010 7:10:38 PM
I agree, but most subjects are about skills these days, so I don't know what mambagrl's talking about.
5/9/2010 7:12:32 PM
those that can't do, teach
5/9/2010 7:14:01 PM
they should be about skill but most aren't. most subjects are about regurgitation.

but parents fail[Edited on May 9, 2010 at 7:29 PM. Reason : kids have parents because those parents had sex, not because they were good people or teachers]
5/9/2010 7:28:30 PM
teaching at my school is not easy.
5/9/2010 7:39:33 PM
teachers DO "teach" confidence, morals, etcyou don't really teach those things though - you steer people in the right direction. there's no lesson plan on morals and there shouldn't be. but school is a place of learning and you learn things that are "right" and "wrong" and you can learn confidence. i think good teachers help children become more confident. but there isn't really a way to teach that in the traditional sense.and i don't think that morals like..."wait until marriage to live together" etc etc should be taught. those aren't universal and i think that is dangerous.
5/9/2010 7:41:45 PM
Woman are, for the most part - good teachers. So yes - Not difficult at all.
5/9/2010 7:45:39 PM
ugly women aren't always good teachers. hot women can be much easier
5/9/2010 7:46:58 PM
Teachers, nurses and bank tellers.
5/9/2010 7:48:32 PM
i never really listened to the ugly teachers except for one that was terribly ugly but made up for it in personality. it's like that one quote from american psycho:Craig McDermott: If they have a great personality and they're not great looking... then who fucking cares? Patrick Bateman: Well, let's just say hypotetically ok? What if they have a great personality? [pause, all laugh] Patrick Bateman: I know, I know. [all in unison] Patrick Bateman, Craig McDermott, David Van Patten: There are no girls with good personalities. David Van Patten: A good personality consists of a chick with a little hard body, who will satisfy all sexual demands without being too slutty about things, and who essentially will keep her dumb fucking mouth shut. Craig McDermott: The only girls with good personalities who are smart or maybe funny or halfway intelligent or talented, though god knows what the fuck that means, are ugly chicks. David Van Patten: Absolutely. Craig McDermott: And this is because they have to make up for how fucking unnattractive they are.
5/9/2010 7:54:22 PM
i know GGMON is a troll but bank tellers don't exactly belong in the same group as nurses and teachersnurses and teachers work hard and have difficult jobs for which they are often underpaid.
5/9/2010 7:57:13 PM
5/9/2010 8:09:00 PM
missing my point. Woman are only good at three types of professions - Nurses, teachers and bank tellers. Teachers are just overpaid union teamsters who get 180 days off a year.

5/9/2010 10:19:56 PM
Indeed. She is cray cray.
5/9/2010 10:21:10 PM
hahaha i didn't mean it literally. i just meant when i study i actually study out loud and talk about it like i'm teaching someone elsebut the only other living things here are my kitties
5/9/2010 10:22:21 PM
and all that damn bacteria
5/9/2010 10:59:15 PM
I find it funny as I'm reading this thread the google ad is that one ECU is putting out saying NC needs teachers...lies ecu, so competitive to get a teaching position these days
5/9/2010 11:02:46 PM
^Only because there isn't room in the budget for teachers....we NEED teachers but we can't afford teachers. They are just making the classroom sizes bigger and making out public school systems worse and worse. One day people will realize that if we make education for our children a priority then our futures will all be better. We need smart people running our country.
5/9/2010 11:05:57 PM
^Totally agree, I'm a teacher and I hate seeing students getting shafted on the attention they need because of the crappy politics of education.[Edited on May 9, 2010 at 11:22 PM. Reason : geez my apologies ]
5/9/2010 11:15:57 PM
^ wait, what. Did you just agree with yourself????
5/9/2010 11:17:06 PM
it's amazing how little of my energy is actually devoted to teaching and how much of it is devoted to management, paperwork, and dealing with other issues. i've always wondered what it would be like to be able to just TEACH.
