I wish I could skate well so that I could join a league. I feel it is made for me.

one of the things I would feel like I could really do great.

I love skating, and my soccer background helps me with knowing how to stay low and use your shoulders.

what was the name of that show that featured the roller derbies where everyone (men and women) wore yellow and orange spandex? It was on late at night on tnn or something like that.

"rollerjam"

being banked track, a good deal of it was booked (scripted) like a wrestling show, because it's too dangerous to be truly full contact

flat track roller derby is much less dangerous, so it's a legitimate sport, at least as far as the integrity of the games goes

i've gotten hurt twice sitting in the crowd

nothing serious, but a skate to the knee at full speed leaves a mark

i believe anyone is welcome to try out but to skate in bouts you have to pass speed and skills assessments

And show up for practice 8 days a week, I have a coworker who was on the Charlotte team & is in withdrawal... once her daughter's softball is done, she's returning.
