It's a little nerve-wracking. My mom is a supervisory contracting agent with the US Coast Guard, and she just had a man with a history of aggression and various behavioral issues sent home for a week until HR can decide how to handle him. He's threatened two people at their office. She's pretty stressed. This won't be welcome news, for sure.

it'll be fine, the state department always exaggerates travel warnings

surely. it would still take a little wind out of your sails to travel to the Caribbean to "get away" only to be met with news that you probably should take warning when deciding to leave you lodging.

heh, I saw the thread title and was coming in here to post "I hope they don't get robbed".I hope your rents will be ok though.

"rents"

they should be ok as long as they don't spend all their time in greater Kingstonmy guess is they probably have a nice room right near da beach

That travel alert is only for Kingston. I'm sure your mom isn't anywhere around there. Tourists never go to Kingston.
