I'm not real sure where the problem is. I worked there for a while when I was 18-19. It's the same Arabica beans that are sold in the grocery store. Are you buying ground or whole bean? My only suggestion would be to switch to whole bean and grind them right before you brew. That's what was done at the store.

it taste better in the store because they have real coffee machines, not some drip crap

^^Dunkin's expert ITT.You should've made this thread's name: "Ask A New Englander." I, too, brew this coffee at home, however I have not had a single problem.

the question is who can successfully brew the coffee at home to taste like the on at the storei dont care about the label on the bag, just the taste

dunkin' donuts is the heat. We purchased a 'tub' of folgers to save some $. NEVAR AGAIN.

This is why I buy my coffee from World Market.

your coffee maker sucks.water needs to be at least 190 degF.find one that can do that. they don't have to be expensive either.i'm using a krups now, but had a kitchen aid before and they both were able to make a decent cup of coffee.

Not that it makes dunkin donuts coffee specifically but I swear coffee from a percolator tastes worlds better than that from a drip pot.

Most home brewers just don't get hot enough. The temperature of the water you use to brew should be between 195 and 208 degrees Fahrenheit. It's hard to get that for any appreciable volume of water in any brewer you plug into a 110-V outlet at home. Most home brewers also just don't get cleaned enough. Run a cycle of white vinegar through the brewer followed by a cycle of plain water, you nasty bastard.[Edited on May 26, 2010 at 8:59 AM. Reason : ...]

^^^ More like:Am I right?I prefer my Moka pot to my french press. Maybe I just need more practice on how long I let the coffee steep, but I get a perfect cup every time with the Moka pot. The Moka pot was less than $10 though. Pretty hard to beat that.[Edited on May 26, 2010 at 9:11 AM. Reason : l]

^ i came in here to post the same exact thingI've got two of these in different sizes and when I brew coffee from fresh ground beans it is soooo gooooooodif you've never seen one before, this is how they work: 1) water goes in the bottom and coffee goes in the "funnel shaped filter"2) water boils, filters up through coffee grounds, comes out in the "top of the coffee pot"3) ... 4) good coffee and profit!!]

Dunkin Donuts coffee doesn't taste as good without the surly attitude.
5/26/2010 6:37:07 PM
Sounds like somethn you should be doing with your wife
5/26/2010 6:39:39 PM
So anyway, unless you're trying to make shitty coffee for your whole office to share you should probably just get a Moka pot.Ignore the amount of cups it claims to make on the box though...Those are Espresso shots, not actual cups of coffee. I think mine is either a 6 or a 9 cup pot and I can only get roughly a pint glass full out of it if I fill the water chamber almost fully to the little blow-off valve.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moka_%28coffee_pot%29[Edited on May 26, 2010 at 11:13 PM. How long does a perculator take to, uh...perculate a cup of coffee?
5/26/2010 11:20:15 PM
I've never used a regular percolator. The Moka pot is basically a pressurized percolator though. When it starts boiling in the bottom chamber the coffee will start flowing to the top chamber. It'll start gurgling shortly thereafter and the coffee is done. It takes roughly as long as your stove would take to boil a small amount of water in an aluminum pot.

anybody go to the dunkin on western? i went and it was the worst coffee i've ever tasted, it tasted like bleachi need confirmation

DD on Western blows. I've been there three times & they've messed up my order each time. Hillsborough DD is far superior, Ravi is my boy
