Off to go buy the eggs Should be interesting to see how students who are never required to do critical thinking handle this project

I'm still pissed off at my 7th (6th?) grade teacher for failing me for my egg drop entry. I made mine out of a cardboard tube and even looked up the formula for the area of a cylinder to make sure that it would be smaller than the requirements. My stupid teacher takes the height, and multiplies it by the diameter and gets a number that is slightly larger than was allowed, so even though my egg didn't break, I still failed. Her reasoning was that because we hadn't been taught the formula for deriving the area of a cylinder, there's no way I could have possibly known what it was. Also, she flipped mine end over end instead of dropping it all normal-like, like she did with all the other entries. It still didn't break the egg though. Looking back, I have to wonder if she had something against me. ]

That would piss me off too.Reminds me of my 5th grade teacher. She made this dumb assignment where we had to build a to-scale greenhouse on a piece of cardboard she gave each student. I designed mine to be a greenhouse like you build on the side of a house and even had actual plants and shit in it. This was still when I was an over-achiever Bitch failed my project because it wasn't a "real" greenhouse, ie like everyone else's greenhouse [Edited on June 3, 2010 at 9:02 PM. Reason : yes, I'm still bitter after 15+ years.]

Reminds me of Mrs. Mack. Southwest Elementary School, 1993. She held every independent thinker down in so many ways it was infuriating. My mom didn't believe a lot of the ridiculous stuff she did until I brought it home & showed it to her.17 years later & I still hate that bitch.

i freaking love egg drop challenges. My favorite entry was constructed via lego technix, with the egg in a little padded container suspended on rubber bands. Survived like 12 stories. Best non-parachute I have ever seen.

My egg drop crashed and burned. They dropped it lopsided though so it went tumbling about.I can't expect but so much from wonky ass elementary school teachers with kitty cat obsessions, to be fair.

what ARE you supposed to do?I remember making ours in a tube or something...but it broke. because this dumb girl tried to rap it in TAPE or something DUMB. I judged.

In our egg drop we were only allowed to use certain items and it could only weigh so much, etc. did yall do the bridge one too? Only could use one box of toothpicks and it had to be certain length then they would put weights on it to see how strong it was...
