6/9/2010 9:40:18 AM
conservatives
6/9/2010 9:41:39 AM
You can't spell conservative without con.
6/9/2010 9:42:58 AM
^^go on... what I just posted is not the conservative view.... which would be: "HOLY SHIT GAY. KILL IT WITH FIRE. NO MARRIAGE, IT'S SIN" and on and on and on.
6/9/2010 9:44:09 AM
i didn't say it was...the OP asked who was against gay marriage and i replied with "conservatives"am i wrong?
6/9/2010 9:44:50 AM
well, most of my views are conservative... but in the end, I'm not against gay marriage... so... yeh.
6/9/2010 9:45:44 AM
6/9/2010 9:45:54 AM
fail. I said that would be the traditional conservative view, which does not match my view, which I posted before.or maybe I should say the christian conservative view. in either case, it doesn't describe my views, as I previously posted.[Edited on June 9, 2010 at 9:49 AM. Reason : .]
6/9/2010 9:46:48 AM
6/9/2010 9:48:51 AM
ok, you are obviously trolling here. You know exactly what I said, which is not what you are portraying.
6/9/2010 9:49:46 AM
^ A troll calling me a troll. You're going to post shit, and when someone calls you the fuck out on it, you try to take back what you said. Like I said, you can't spell conservative without con.
6/9/2010 9:52:03 AM
haha, I wasn't trolling. I posted my opinion, then I thought quag was trying to troll me with the conservative remark, to which I responded by essentially pointing out that being conservative != being against gay marriage. And what am I trying to take back? I stated my opinion and then I stated the traditional/christian conservative view, showing that not all conservatives have the same view on gay marriage. What is so hard to comprehend here?Maybe you're having trouble understanding English... "what I just posted" referred to my first post in this thread, which contains my opinion. then I said the traditional/christian view is " "HOLY SHIT GAY. KILL IT WITH FIRE. NO MARRIAGE, IT'S SIN" and on and on and on" which is not my view.[Edited on June 9, 2010 at 9:56 AM. Reason : .]

I once said among friends that I don't really care but that it should be legal just so more people could have health ins. and estates could be settled. One dude got all pissed and started ranting about how it was ruining the sanctity of my marriage. My wife and I were all
6/9/2010 9:56:56 AM
6/9/2010 10:00:46 AM
i dont care. let them do what they want, just keep the PDA down it makes people uncomfortable
6/9/2010 10:05:46 AM
My conservative view: it's not the federal government's call. It should be up to the individual states to decide.

6/9/2010 10:15:06 AM
^ Wheaties, at 10:15 PM?
6/9/2010 10:15:57 AM
ha, you are that stupid. my political beliefs have no religious background. My personal disagreement with this has nothing to do with religion, whatsoever. Nice try though. And is it that hard to understand that legally, I have no problem with it and that I said people should be able to marry who they want to? It is not an issue for me. I'll say it again, people should be able to marry who they want to, whether or not I personally agree with a person's life choices are irrelevant.[Edited on June 9, 2010 at 10:28 AM. Reason : .]
6/9/2010 10:28:11 AM
^ I'll ask it again. Why the fuck do you disagree on a personal level? Why even post it if it meant nothing? By the sounds of it, you would prefer it that gay marriage be illegal, but that if/when the time comes that it is legalized, you won't say anything.Or are you switching your story up and saying that you do personally agree with it? How can you sit here and say that you legally support something, but personally disagree with it, especially when your personal feelings are influenced by religion. It's completely contradictory. You can say that you personally agree with it, but that doesn't mean that you would personally get married to another dude, because you're not gay. I personally, and legally, feel that gay marriage should be allowed. That doesn't mean that I want to marry another dude.Your stance makes no sense, so don't get all pissed off when you get called the fuck out on it.

I am against gay marriage. Completely due to me being against anything that makes people happy. Other things I am against:CircusesLong walks on the beachOttersBalloonsMoviesInternational TravelDomestic TravelApplesand Oyster RoastsThere's plenty more but those are at the top of the list, along with gay marriage.
6/9/2010 10:44:18 AM
^The circus is evil son. They have clowns, which I hate, and why the fuck do I want to see an elephant wearing hats and riding a bike. Other than that I agree with you I hate stuff that makes people happy...don't forget clam bakes. I know let's makes everything that makes people happy illegal so we can be as fucked as the middle east.

What the hell, it hasn't been contradictory to disagree with an act or find it distasteful but still accept and promote its legality since the 18th century. Cue a tired old quote of Voltaire that I'm sure that you all know.

i dont see anything wrong with wdprice's statementi'm personally against most forms of abortion but I don't think the government has any right to tell someone what they do with their bodyno different than thatit bothers me that by and large conservatives are for a smaller government except when it crosses their ultra-fundy religious beliefs. sort of reminds me of the southern states clamoring for states rights, except of course when they wanted a strong national government to return their slaves for them.if you have a belief or ideology don't betray it just to suite your own needs, thats called a hypocriteheres to you wdprice

Banning marriage would interfere with individuals' religious freedom, which is something I find distasteful but feel should remain legal. It is also useful as a legal constuct in providing a prtocol which must be followed, thereby establishing some decorum to events during which people can lose their composure and manners, such as the division of goods and assets and the responsibility of child care following the dissolution of a cohabitating couple.
