i can't even work at those places because i'm overqualified. true story.ok well i haven't tried those exact three. but i tried for some admin jobs and nonprofit jobs and they said i was overqualifiedand my friend tried for lowe's (the food place) and they said she was overqualified. i mean i guess they're right i can't make a long term commitment cause if something better comes along i'm jumping at that. but i feel like i probably have a good 4-6 months with which to file shit for < $10/hour. and i'm amazing at filing. i got my alphabet down.

^^^^^^Ain't that the truth. I've applied to tons of places that hated the fact that I have a degree. If I didn't have a conditional offer right now I would be going more crazy than I am.i dislike this thread[Edited on June 28, 2010 at 7:38 PM. Reason : katwackle]

6/28/2010 7:51:09 PM
Aerospace Engineeringplease don't let this turn into a thread where people share their "knowledge" on what grads should be doing if they don't currently have a job.because if you really think you know how people can find work, you don't know jack.[Edited on June 28, 2010 at 7:52 PM. Reason : .]

^ you could do business (instead of law). these days you'd prob make more and JD is the new MBA in the business world
6/28/2010 7:52:34 PM
NOWHERE
6/28/2010 7:53:20 PM
^^ this is true. i concentrated in business law.international. i wish i had gotten an MBA with my JD (even if it isn't necessary). i'd rather not go back to school for it. plus MBA programs want you to work first (usually) before attending and i didn't do undergrad in business so how would i get a business-y job? i don't know how to get any job. because all of my efforts have resulted in nothing. ok like 3 interviews for 100 jobs applied for i just want to work at RTI. i apply to jobs there like everyday but none of them 100% fit my qualifications. i try to force myself in to the mold haha.[Edited on June 28, 2010 at 7:54 PM. 6/28/2010 7:53:48 PM
^aren't you taking the Bar soon?
6/28/2010 7:59:09 PM
if you want to work at RTI.. do you know anyone there? step one is make friends with someone there. applying online for jobs only works once in a blue moon and always for someone else. network and make personal connections. that will get you the interview, your personality & professionalism will get you the job.

^^^^,^^^^^Business management would also be acceptable, but I'm guessing if you had no experience in agriculture, or any other career in which you got your hands dirty, you wouldn't be appreciative of the working conditions[Edited on June 28, 2010 at 10:01 PM. Reason : ^]
