Fuck you.http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Salem,+Marion,+Oregon&ll=40.920933,-87.940088&spn=0.001522,0.003878&t=h&z=19I slept under this freeway, next to these railroads, adjacent to that swamp. I got bitten by mosquitoes, chased by a pack of dogs, my gear was tossed around by raccoons playing beach volley ball and no less than 300 mice feasted on my peanut butter and tortillas If I saw on the BBC that Lucifer had torn open the earth and emerged from a fiery slumber, My first thought would be "Hmm, i wonder if it was under the dairy queen in Clifton, IL." And then I'd change the channel to Jeopardy because I already know the answer to that question.

why'd you sleep under a highway when there's a bunch of hotels just a few miles up the road?[Edited on July 16, 2010 at 3:47 PM. Reason : what are you poor? help the economy jerk]

I, too, make a habit of sleeping on the ground and then complaining when my experience was less than five star.
7/16/2010 3:48:21 PM
I live on the ground; this particular ground just happens to be the worst patch of ground in at least the Midwest, which, to be perfectly honest, contains a lot of shitty ground.o c[Edited on July 16, 2010 at 3:50 PM. Reason : No complaints, only warnings here]

If I'm ever a hobo I'll be sure to look up this thread

You should write a nasty review of the underpass on tripadvisor.
7/16/2010 3:52:26 PM
hobos with consistent access to an Internet connection....now I've seen it all.
7/16/2010 3:53:56 PM
^^ Fantastic Idea!Just put one up:To quote what I know to be the only quote ever spoken on Clifton - "Yo Dawg, I heard you like shitty places, so I put Clifton Illinois in Illinois, so you can be disgusted while you're disgusted"[Edited on July 16, 2010 at 4:00 PM. Reason : .]

stay cool out there. I would not want to live on the ground this time of year, or any time of the year really
7/16/2010 3:54:34 PM
the ground under Raleigh freeways is much more luxurious

FYI, this was two years ago, I was just looking through pictures and reminiscing. I think I had suppressed this memory.

I'm gonna file this away under "k".

I attending this underpass hoping for the best and I was more please with the grass then the dogs on hand. There was a nice variety of animals but in my opinion there was no quality in the swamp. Overall I would say if you like bitter hot mosquitoes this is for you but I prefer a/c and buildings.Even though hoboing it isn't really an experience i want the map shown gave me a good feel of what being a hobo is all about. I normally do not read these threads but having to do so I am okay with the doing so and it was an enlightening experience.[Edited on July 16, 2010 at 4:04 PM. Reason : moar]

Why didn't you consult the consortium of hobos for places to sleep? I'm sure they could have hooked you up with some free HBO, a hooker and a fire.
7/16/2010 4:22:04 PM
Hooker on Fire should be a Pay-Per-View event for HBO

details on what led to sleeping under a bridge might make this thread 10/10 but for now4/10

^ Lets not rehash old stories man. This is a story about Clifton, not about me.
