Ok, what the fuck?! http://projects.washingtonpost.com/top-secret-america/map/ I am not very happy about this. This makes me feel unsafe for my country, and my jerb

personally, i think the massive military and defense spending this investigation is meant to draw attention to is more a threat to our country than any exposure of "top secret" locations. isn't top secret pretty ho-hum as far as security goes nowadays?

I think that a lot of what the article says is fineBut to pinpoint locations in one easy to find resource seems to be going a bit far. It would seem that it's just an invitation for anyone to make a shitlist of places to attack. There are a lot of people (both foreign and national) that don't agree with the work that goes on in these locations...

i'm guessing the visual nature of a map plus the anticipated typical reaction of "oh, let me see what's in my neighborhood" being used to draw the reader in, is why they chose to use a mapbut i also see your point in that if somebody were so inclined to use this data to harm those institutions, the post is handing out 2 years of research in an easily consumable formator maybe that's what they were going for - "now that this map is out there, somebody could use it for bad, i should be afraid of all this top secret secret stuff cus somebody might try to attack it, and therefore i should think we should get rid of all this top secret stuff"]
