WEAR GLOVES WHEN HANDLING HOT PEPPERS. THEY'LL BURN MORE THAN JUST YOUR EYES AND PRIVATES. just wish someone had told me this.

Uh, only certain hot peppers and pepper extract are dangerous enough to require gloves. So I can't imagine why someone would have told you to wear gloves. What the hell are you cooking with, ghost chile extract?
8/13/2010 2:51:26 AM
they were just jalapenos
8/13/2010 2:51:54 AM

The hell girl either you have open wounds on your hands or those weren't jalapenos.
8/13/2010 2:54:46 AM
If you pee on it the stinging will go away. Here, I can be of service, just tell me where to aim.
8/13/2010 2:56:31 AM
I think I just have thin skin... tho acne creams could be partially to blame. dunno. my hand is sitting in yogurt and lime right now. no relief yet to be had.
8/13/2010 2:56:53 AM
jalapenos can definitely make your fingers burn. Some people have more sensitive skin.
8/13/2010 2:57:00 AM
Use rubber/latex gloves when you go do number 2 or you'llllll beeeee soooooorrrrryyyyyyyy
8/13/2010 2:58:55 AM
^^^Well, more to do with your pores. Exfoliating lotions could make you more sensitive to it, but that's still really sensitive.
8/13/2010 2:59:54 AM
the pepper is off my skin... I've been able to lick my fingers all evening and get no heat. guess its soaked in.btw... do the finger pads have pores? cause i heard you can pick up a jelly fish as long as you dont let it touch the back of your hand...[Edited on August 13, 2010 at 3:04 AM. I love scratching my balls after handling hot peppers. The feeling is exhilarating. Makes you feel alive. And by hot peppers I don't mean sweet peppers like jalapeño.

jalapenos really arent spicy or hot to handle at all
8/13/2010 9:43:15 AM
They are if you cut them open and handle them with your urethraI'm pretty sure thats what happened here.
8/13/2010 9:46:16 AM
^^I don't give a fuck if you think that's opinion or fact, but jalapenos are hot peppers -- they are spicy.Does that mean they're really hot? No.Does that mean they're really spicy? No.Your or anyone else's ability to eat jalapenos and say, "Meh -- not spicy." has ZERO bearing on the FACT that they are spicy hot peppers.Stop beating your fucking chests, you clowns.

So I'm working at a seed company and picked these from our guard rows... I can't handle a lot of heat.... medium salsa from the store is my comfort limit. But these if I touched the tip of my tongue to it set my mouth on fire, so I don't know how to rate them on the hotness scale. maybe they're hotter than normal or a special kind or something, or maybe I'm just a big wuss. Either way, it made my hand burn from 5pm to 11pm til I fell asleep.

Double up!Also, I tried milk, baking soda, milk and baking soda, milk and baking soda and vinegar, bleach, yogurt and lime juice. My hand felt fine as long as I kept them in whichever concoction, but started burning again a few after taking them out. [Edited on August 13, 2010 at 11:29 AM. Reason : sdf]

^^ I don't know how to rate the ones I picked without a lab And types of peppers are not all the same hotness.Btw, I made about 2 cups of salsa using one small slice of that jalapeno and it's easily hotter than my medium salsa.
