whats your favorite simple meal to make at a campfire? something slightly more elaborate than sandwiches and poptarts, but not requiring several steps in the same dutch oven.

I like packing pre-cooked pasta into bags for the first night and then busting out the sautee station on the camp stovebring a box of white wine (sans box so space pouch only) and maybe a little bit of pesto

hobo dinnersand for breakfast- omelet in a bag... take everything you want in an omelet and put it into a freezer zip lock bag. I like onions, peppers, cheese, salt, bacon (pre cooked so you don't need to cook that), and then add egg (I prefer egg beaters) and then close bag and dip and hold into a pot of boiling water until egg is cooked. That way you have nothing to clean, just toss the bag, and you can prep everything in the bag before you leave for the trip (short of the eggs)[Edited on August 30, 2010 at 1:23 PM. Reason : bfast]

Cinnamon buns (Pillsbury in a can type) in a dutch oven for breakfast. Throw down some tin foil ahead of time and there is no clean up. Makes an amazing breakfast for cold mornings! Really goes best with milk though.

s'mores nachos: layer graham cracker, marshmallow, and chocolate in a dutch oven. Heat until melted and toasty. Eat the way you would cheese nachos

^they made pancakes even easier with a "parkay butter" style container that has the mix already ready. That actually worked pretty well.[Edited on August 30, 2010 at 3:24 PM. Reason : w]
