I know of a girl who used her vacuum cleaner to get off.
10/12/2010 9:02:24 AM
I don't get people who use vacuum cleaner. To me, that sounds like a device that cleans vacuums.

10/12/2010 11:38:31 AM

10/12/2010 11:40:24 AM
RIP

My parents bought a Kirby from one of those door-to-door salesmen when I was a kid. Thing weighed like 200 pounds.
10/12/2010 11:45:23 AM
my parents also bought one of those deals.way too expensive, and isn't any better than your average cyclonic vacuum. granted those weren't around back then, but still.
10/12/2010 11:52:16 AM
I still have a rainbow vacuum my mom bought like 15 years ago. Thing still works like a champ. But I use my roomba for day to day vacuuming.
10/12/2010 12:15:57 PM
Kirby's are commercial quality. They can be repaired, unlike most modern plastic crap. They have incredible resale value.Mine has automatic drive, so it doesn't feel heavy.Overpriced? maybe... but you can't pay too much for a good pair of shoes.(No, I am not a Kirby salesman.)
10/12/2010 1:02:30 PM
the weight helps them get into the carpet nap too
10/12/2010 1:05:49 PM
^^you're doing it wrong. It's supposed to clean your carpets, not be worn as shoes.
10/12/2010 1:18:43 PM
^Can't it be both?
10/12/2010 1:29:21 PM
Get a Rainbow. Shit makes you house smell fantastic.

we bought the Dyson Ball Animal last year and still love it. The double filters are clutch if you have pets. I moved the vacuum in our office last week and couldnt believe how limited it's movement is compared to the Ball

i've got the central vac deal in my house, but i hate carrying the hose around. so i just use the cyclonic vacuum i bought 6 years ago. its a .bissell.. was about 250 then. pretty good vac, does well with birdseed and other larger objects many vacuums fail at.[Edited on October 12, 2010 at 1:41 PM. I definitely prefer canister vacuums over uprightsthe vacuum we have now is an upright (first one I've every owned) and I hate it so much that I'm asking for a canister vacuum for Christmas.

My parents have a whole-house vac. They thought is was gonna be easier, that long hose is heavy and it fucks up your walls corners.
10/12/2010 4:08:58 PM
We also have a Dyson Animal Ball. I love it!
10/12/2010 4:30:54 PM
you would

I was going to recommend a Kenmore. I wanted a Dyson, but they are too expensive. The Kenmore was the next best vacuum i saw between Sears, Wal-Mart, and Best Buy, that wasn't too expensive. It has a very good design for the attachments, is easy to take apart if it clogs, and has the dirt sensor thing that seems to work reasonably well for me.
10/12/2010 5:10:53 PM
ooh the dirt sensor thing is awesome! i was very skeptical at first when my mom got one but i'm a believer now
10/12/2010 5:29:53 PM
i use a shark navigator...not as nice as my mom's dyson, but at 1/3 the cost, it's an amazing value
