Do I have to wear a suit to class? Also, I hear rumors that NCSU is going to have an online MBA soon. Anyone have any factual information to back that up?

I was an ME major and have been working in Manufacturing for about 3.5 years. From what I have heard from people who previously have gone through the program it should absolutely be a cakewalk. However, i dont really want to wear a suit and tie to class because i dont wear that to work and I would probably be coming straight from work to class.

why the hell would you wear a suit to any class, at any program, at university? and what program is actually going to require a suit? work is one thing, but class? (obviously if you wear a suit to work and go to class straight from work, that's another thing)^ me too... i am a college lecturer and 2/3 of the days i go in jeans and a polo shirt or long sleeve tshirt. the other 1/3 in dress trousers and shirt, no tie, no jacket.[Edited on October 15, 2010 at 12:51 PM. If you have to ask, you shouldn't apply

^^ without knowing anything about MBA program details, it's my understanding that students are supposed to be professionals of a sort, to bring in real-word experience...as part of that, i can see them requiring business casual, though suits seem a bit over the top[Edited on October 15, 2010 at 12:53 PM. 9 out of 10 real world office jobs don't require wearing a suit everyday anyway, so I'm not sure why a MBA program would.I went to a decent b-school for my MBA and there were days (especially in the summer) where I'd dress rather casual (jeans and a casual button up) but most days I just went right from work... it wasn't a requirement by any stretch though unless you were presenting.

I know someone in the full time program NCSU MBA program right now. I wouldn't call it "easy" like you would call a freshman level undergrad course "easy." The classes are still a lot of work.

you're a moron...why the hell would you think you have to wear a suit? Classes start at 6 so people come from work, nobody wears a jacket or tie, at the most the dress shirt they were wearing that day. And your online rumors, what "people say", and attitude are bullshit, and I foresee you being part of the % that fail out or quit half way through b/c they cant handle it. My friends that are in it dedicate 3-4 nights a week to it, plus weekends. Good luck!
