http://www.politicsdaily.com/2010/10/15/illinois-governor-candidate-whitney-listed-as-whitey-on-some-b/just about shat myself when I saw that story. I was like "oh, whatever, they misspelled a random guy's name, who gives a fuck." Then I saw that they called him "whitey" and I started giggling, cause I saw just how much it might fuck him overit's sad that the average electorate is so stupid that such a distinction would actually hurt a candidate[Edited on October 15, 2010 at 9:21 PM. I think the issue is that it takes so long to sign off on any changes that if they wanted to change the screen it would take until after the election

i mean, I know there are a lot of machines, ok. There a lot of computers in this country, and yet microsoft still manages to patches out to a lot of them routinely. It's two weeks to the election. The machines should be in a central location in at least each county. Pass out the fucking thumbdrives and update that shit! If you've got a voting machine system that can't reliably be updated in two weeks when all of the machines are centrally located across several regions, then your machine shouldn't be used. period. end of story.[Edited on October 15, 2010 at 10:55 PM. blame bureaucracy, not technologyI mean if your vision of how the world works held, IE6 would be a distant memory by now, what with all the computers running XP and later that can run IE8and the world would be a better place
