^^ (not to be construed as any defense of the Bush administration)
10/18/2010 12:19:07 PM
you don't think the failing economy is the result of unsustainable economic policies and massive deficit spending on the part of the Republicans during the Bush presidency?its not like it just suddenly happened the moment we elected a black guy
10/18/2010 12:36:09 PM
^i don't think thats what people are pissed about.....at least not the tea partiers i know[Edited on October 18, 2010 at 12:48 PM. Reason : i guess my assumptions are anecdotal then]

He isnt doin shit snewfhis election was nothing more than a historical token.and its is fault because like a bad email address he didnt deliverchange? looks like the same ol shit to mereaching across the aisle?? ha ive heard so much partisan crap comin out of this jig's mouth, hes so fuckin political its not funny[Edited on October 18, 2010 at 12:54 PM. 10/18/2010 12:53:22 PM
^^ the tea partiers I know are upset about a number of things and I'm sympathetic to a lot of their concerns - I just worry that their desire for mass deregulation might be taken advantage of by the hyper-wealthy in order to make a buck, yet again, on the backs of the working class. I also find the religious zealotry that you sometimes see among that group more than a little distasteful^ holy shit, a political president?call the press - even if they are a little media biased
10/18/2010 1:09:50 PM
I am pretty sure the Tea Partiers are against ANY taxation (read: enabling government spending), regardless of the side of the aisle. Most of the tea parties were started as a way to voice opinions on FairTax.

Lessons from Obama:The neo-cons make the mess, had you clean it up, they change their name, come back, and kick you out
10/18/2010 1:10:27 PM
thats no change from any other politician, true!

10/18/2010 1:17:14 PM
You know, everytime a liberal says "he is cleaning up Bushs mess caused by Bushs policies" they never seem to mention specifically what policies they are talking about
10/18/2010 1:44:22 PM
A beggar on every corner...
10/18/2010 1:45:07 PM
linguistically, the OP is a real stretch
10/18/2010 1:47:55 PM
^thats because no one has told them what to say to that question. My guess it will be the tax cuts for the rich (which somehow now people are starting to understand went to everyone) or "deregulations man..." but you can ask which deregulations and you will just be right back where you started.Bush was unpopular among fiscal conservatives bc of reckless spending. His last year we had a record deficit of over 400Billion. We have been over a trillion a year since, plus that trillion on the "stimulus" really brought us back like gangbusters.
10/18/2010 1:49:10 PM
First of all the Bush Tax cuts did not raise revenue to pay for themselves nor did it stimulate the economy as much as they predictedThe removal of regulations on wall street that occurred during the clinton and bush terms by GOP congressthe idea that wall street banks would regulate themselvesCutting capital gains taxes below clinton years levelstax breaks that encourage outsourcingand many many more
10/18/2010 1:51:22 PM
Bush was only one of many who contributed to our fiscal problems (although he was a particularly bad one). In any event, the fix for a government growing out of control is certainly not more leftist politics.
10/18/2010 1:52:56 PM
And i like the characterization that liberals are the ones recieving the welfare while teabaggers are working hard, when statistics show there are as many white trash tea baggers on welfare as anyone elseIf tea bagger politicians ever messed with their money you'll see who's on welfare real quick
10/18/2010 1:53:30 PM
In times of economic crisis, govt has had to spend more money, the opposite has been tried and failed repeatedly, here and around the worldhealthcare is up for debate, but its a new direction, we've tried the old, obama got elected, he got his bill passed, live with itdont complain till we have seen some resultsbut the same old, free market cry is wearing thin with anyone with a memory and common sensehow many times are we gonna dig ourselves a hole before we learn how to regulate the market so it can function properly for a long period of time
10/18/2010 1:56:03 PM
^care to tell me where the free market failed?Sure you have corrupt people everywhere, the free market does its role to prevent as much damage to the most people. Enron didnt fuck over 99% of the population. The govt securing and buying trillions of dollars in mortgages, establishing a new right to homeownership, certainly had more of a widespread effect.
10/18/2010 2:11:20 PM
^that is not what created the giant bubble, not even closeim too tired to explain right now
10/18/2010 3:34:26 PM
I keep having this dream that the GOP sweeps the house and senate in Nov. And I'm on the news with a giant "YOU'RE NEXT" in front of the white house.
10/18/2010 3:36:53 PM
Cycles are indeed fun.the pendulum just continuously goes from side to side every 8 years or so. adults working hard to act like childrenwhen it really, really doesn't make a fuck.
10/18/2010 3:40:30 PM
Why I dislike Obama... He killed NASA. Instead of spending all that stupid money on healthcare reform that's going to cost more problems then it solves, spend it on research and development or the next best way to take over the world with pennies on the dollar.
10/18/2010 3:44:13 PM
i thought he increased NASA's budget
10/18/2010 3:46:01 PM

10/18/2010 4:03:14 PM
The spending is clearly out of control, but I don't see how anyone on either side being elected is going to be able to get it back into control without basically conceding there is a good chance they won't get reelected. Because whoever comes in and cuts back spending is going to anger so many groups because the only way to get it back in control is to cut the budget on everyone across the board. That goes from military to welfare to even education. The out of control spending has gone back more than Bush or Obama. I'd def. vote Republic if I felt they would come in and get spending under control but I don't see that happening. Money might be spent differently, but it will still be spent. And most likely with those cuts, will have to be tax raises as well. I find it hard to believe we will elect/find someone willing to be unpopular enough to fix our country which is what it is going to take.
10/18/2010 4:04:11 PM
^^^^Ok well you can word it a lot better than you did, he killed one program of many programs.but really he did what most tea baggers would like, privatizing near earth orbit space travelits not only gonna save NASA money, but its gonna open up a whole new space tourism market and put US out in front of the world yet again[Edited on October 18, 2010 at 4:05 PM. We in the hole anyhows, lets just vote the best guy to give us more fake money and worry about national debt till the next president. Also, do kids still watch power rangers? I grew up on that in Japan. Wouldn't think that they are still viable.
